We do a lot of our own butchering. Recently had venison to process / slice for jerky. Our old slicer died, so got this one, but not in time for our jerky making. We tested it on a block of deli ham, as my husband likes his lunchment sliced thicker than the packaged stuff. It worked flawlessly. We recommended to our friends, who also bought one. We recommend to everyone!

This exceeded my expectations for the price. It was very easy to set up and I started to slice Tri tip’s for sandwiches. It sliced super thin with no trouble and clean up was super easy, just be careful the blade is super sharp. No item on Amazon has perfect ratings, since the majority were good I took my chances. I am not at all disappointed. If anything goes wrong in the near future I will update this post.

Slicer is quite but can not make big slices because half the blade is not exposed to the cutting area

Only issue I have had is cleaning. It is not designed for easy cleaning. So prepare to spend at least 15 minutes taking it apart to clean and put it back to together.

Build quality seems very good and the machine is very quiet. Using safety gloves is an absolute must when removing and washing the blade. You will need a Philips screwdriver to remove and install blade with every cleaning. The manual was obviously written in China, but no big deal, as you'll likely not need it after you become familiar with the machine during some minor assembly. Use it primarily to cut jerky strips from large pieces of meat. Clean up is a chore, likely 20 minutes once familiar, and ensures I'll only make use of it when I have 20 lbs of meat, or more, to slice. Anything less I will gladly pay the deli to do for me. I can see passing this down a generation or two though and plan on keeping it.

Great slicer for the money. Don't expect Hobart quality at this price and you won't be disappointed. I smoke a lot meats and wanted this slicer for slicing paper thin meats for homemade deli sandwiches. It works great and is simple to operate. It is heavy but then all of the professional style slicers will be. Cleaning is not too bad and after doing it a few times it takes maybe 15 minutes. You will have to remove the blade EVERY TIME for proper cleaning and sanitizing. No cut gloves are a must and I wear them the entire time while cleaning. Get some of the quaternary sanitizing tablets to be sure your slicer is properly sanitized and avoid damaging the finish. DO NOT USE BLEACH on this slicer or put any parts in a dishwasher! The sharpener works fine but I would prefer it had less coarse sharpening stones to produce a smoother finish on the blade edge. This slicer is great for home use or very light business use. This would not be a proper slicer for heavy daily use in a deli or catering business.

This machine is similar to what a deli uses. It is heavy and please don't buy one without some cut proof gloves. The blade is heavy and sharp and will slip and cut you in a nasty way without the gloves. I sliced up a roast beef for sandwiches today and it did a great job. It comes with a spare belt and grinding stone we likely will never need as we don't use this thing every day. It looks and feels like a commercial machine. It is heavy, so if you can't lift 50 pounds, you will need some help. I ordered a rolling cart to be it's permanent home. This is a real deal slicer and if the motor is anything like the rest of it, it will slice for many years.Bonus: Blade arrived very sharp and ready to go. I gave the built in sharpener a very brief test and it looks like it works well. I took it apart and cleaned it. This will take about 20 minutes to do it correctly. You have to disassemble the machine and will need a Phillips screwdriver to do it.They could have included a screwdriver that mounted in the base and that would have been a nice touch. It's a really nice tool otherwise.
