It's very small, I use this to lock the bike by its toptubeIt may be a good choice for indoor racks/use because the chain inside the cloth can get wet! Also wish it was bit larger

Not the strongest but great quality and kryptonite name is a good theft deterrent

Security-wise this is fairly radical departure from more massive cryptonite locks in south direction, so definitely not for anything other than quick errand. Works nice and smoothly, not very heavy, but is pretty short. As in "I'm thinking of getting second one and chaining them together" short, because locking anything than a frame is neigh impossible, and even frame is hard sometimes.Haven't tried to pick it myself, but looking at keys i highly doubt that it will give more than 4 minutes of troubles, so i don't use it for longer than few minute absence.

Good quality for what it is, which is why I'm giving 4 stars. However, I misunderstood the product description. I needed a thin chain to lock my helmet: this chain has 4mm thick links, it is not 4mm thick overall. The product weight in the info page was also wrong and misleading. This chain is too thick to lock my helmet, and too thin for a bike. I will have to return it.

I like that despite it's size, it definitely seems strong and because of it's size, it is lighter and I definitely like the color of it. My entire bike is pretty much straight black so having this orange bike lock on it makes it really pop.The downfall of this though is that it is small, so, if you go to areas that are kind of sketchy on a regularly basis, I can't recommend this. I also don't like that the key has to been when also locking it.I went with this because of it's affordability, prime shipping and the style of it but if I could back with what I know now I wouldn't buy it and would go for something a bit pricier but gives me more security, peace of mind and functionality. I'll end up buying another bike lock eventually but for now, this will do.

I use an old bottle instead of a saddle bag. It holds more stuff and it's easier to remove and take with me. I generally don't need more than 1 bottle of water. I used to carry a small cable lock with a combination luggage padlock. It's not my main lock because I don't generally lock my bike up. But sometimes, you have to make a quick stop somewhere, whether nature calls or you need to stop by a convenience store. Cables are never a good idea but I didn't want to carry a heavy lock since I hardly use it. But when I saw this, I thought I'd give it a try. And I'm glad that I did because I can still fit it into my tool bottle!I carry a spare 700x25c, patch kit, c02 pump, tire levers, and a mini mult-tool. With that, I could fit this lock into the bottle as well. I don't really need tire levers for my rim and tire combo but I carry them just incase someone I ride with has a tight tire. I figured worst comes to worst I could leave the levers out but it fit!The chain isn't going to stand up against bolt cutters but it'll stop a pair of side cutters that a thief would carry in their pant pocket. Cable locks are generally useless so I'm glad I found a chain to replace it. The lock itself is very low security. It could be picked open easily but I don't think most thieves would bother trying to pick it open.Overall, it bridges a gap between a heavy high security lock and a vulnerable cable lock, in a tiny package that will fit in a bottle or a saddle bag!

If you recognize this for what it is, you will see how versatile and awesome it is... This is part of my “security system” (Pee Wee Herman here) I live on a dirt road so this is perfect as a primary at the corner store or veggie stand. That being said less then a 10 mile bike ride from my rural retreat is the Baltimore city line. Metro stops (light rail and buses plus shady individuals) even closer so my security needs change drastically in a few miles. Here comes the versatility, it instantly transforms into a seat and helmet lock!!! It’s easy to unlock, light to carry and has to offer way more security then a cable.

Nothing crazy - simple light chain lock. It won’t stop bolt cutters, but at this size and price, you knew that. Nice that it comes with a quality chain sheath for the low price.
