When watching youtube bicycle security videos, someone using an angle grinder would take roughly 4-5 minutes to cut through this chain, so I would not expect this to be proper security if leaving your bike overnight anywhere, whether a city street or an isolated parking garage. But it seems to be a very nice deterrent in lower security situations. In higher risk areas, I would still want to be able to visually see my bike, so that if an attempt is made to cut the chain, I would hopefully then have 4-5 minutes to decide how to handle the situation. I would expect that every lock made, can be cut given enough time.

This is a heavy-duty chain lock. I love the nylon chain cover, and the weight of this thing! I pair it with a rechargeable bike alarm for added safety.

The length of the chain is good. Perfect for locking my ebike frame and both wheels. One drawback is its heavy weight, making it not really portable. So it’s more suitable for locking your bikes at home. Also, the thickness isn’t the absolute best for security. If you need maximum security, there are thicker chain locks also by Kryptonite. But they are much more expensive and heavier. Other than that, this lock is perfect!

I did a TON of research on bike locks; reviews, stories on blogs, and many utube videos. I have a new eBike to add to my barn and this is what I now carry in my little rear bag.It is heavy for sure, but all of the high security locks are. And on an eBike, a few extra pounds is not an issue. It also comes with Kryptonites guarantee against theft of your bicycle! If someone manages to get it off and steal your bicycle, send them a photo of the broken lock and the police report and they will *replace the cost of your bicycle* ! That's amazing.I never leave the bicycle for many hours at a time, but I do live in a city with a LOT of bicycle theft. So I use the lock any time I go in to a store or have to be away from it. Period.Plus, the lock is integrated with the chain.I like that as there's no need for some kind of giant padlock thing on the chain. It is long enough that I can secure the front wheel (quick release) to the frame and still go around whatever bike rack or anchor I am using.No way anyone is getting this off without a lot of time, a lot of noise, and a really expensive angle grinder. Insurance is there as a backup too.Highly recommend.

When I lock my bike up, I noticed all the U-locks on the other bikes starring over with jealousy and wanting in their eyes! Seriously, people do look at me oddly when I pull this lock out of my pannier and snake it through my bike. It's a beast and a bit unwieldy. However, it could also double as a weapon if you ever fancy being in a violent bike gang.This lock is massive, they do make them in shorter lengths and I am thinking I should have went smaller. However, this chain/lock is long enough to go through the frame and both tires and it can get around larger poles or small trees. But having a lock that is 10lb adds significant weight to the bike, but the bike is still there when I get back to it. Trade offs!

If you are buying this, you know what you are getting into. It's huge and bulky but sturdy and almost indestructible. The pick resistant lock is a little funky but it makes sense. I live in a big city and I ride a somewhat expensive hardtail that I can't afford to replace and can't live without. This lock keeps it safe.Do know that it is huge and heavy. It's awkward to transport and store while riding. It's a trade-off, though, as if you want a lock like this, you know what you are getting into. If you can't deal with a thick 12lb chain, get a smaller lock.As far as value, it is indeed just an industrial chain (not unlike the ones you would use to tether a boat or something to a truck as a backup) in a sleeve with a lock attached. So the overall cost seems a bit inflated but it does come with a good warranty, a good protection plan, and it does its job.

This is a great locking chain for intimidating my bike thief. It intimidates me, its owner, largely because it weighs nine pounds two ounces, but that's okay if you don't intend to ride far wearing it. Wearing it seems much better than carrying it in a pack because wearing it centers the weight.The key locks and unlocks the mechanism readily — no binding or sticking at all. The chain is 63" long. The lock subtracts one inch at each end but itself adds another three inches to the length. So total useable length is about 64". The lock is the fattest part by far and in crosswise section measures about 1 ¾" x 2". If you remove the keyhole dust cover it would be about 1 ½" thick.Earlier reviews complained about the fabric sheath on the chain. It is now connected securely to the chain at both ends by sturdy rubber boots.

I bought the 5 foot 3 inch model and it weighs net 9.4 lbs. I'm not sure if this was actually intended for locking up a 800 lbs motorcycle but I'm carrying it with me on my 48 lbs Cannondale Foray M mountain bike which I ride about 12 miles a day. I can feel instantly when this lock is onboard because it adds 9.4 lbs to the bike. This makes the bike more stable, harder to accelerate but surprisingly more entertaining. This is like making out with an overweight women. She isn't resisting you because she wants it too but she is simply heavy and requires extra effort to maneuver from position to position, which I just honestly love. I don't really lock my bike with this lock as I park it in a lock box but having this heavy lock with me on the ride just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Highly recommend if you are into big ladies and want that feeling with you when your are alone on a bike ride. Great for working your arms and legs. Would love if Kryptonite made a matching (weight) gentleman's neck chain and belt.

チェーンの太さが10mmと、他の製品に比べてやや細めですがアラーム付きのハンドルロックと合わせて使用しています。鍵が3本付属していますが、鍵穴へスムーズに入るのは1本だけでした。また、使用を開始して間もなく、アンロックの状態で鍵穴部分のカバーがすっぽり抜けてしまいました。カバーを戻し鍵をかけると使えはしますが、ヤワな作りにびっくりしました。
