About this item

  • TASTING NOTES: Well-rounded and complex with notes of stone fruit and cocoa.
  • MEDIUM ROAST: Cheeky, bright, precocious. A bright, chocolatey concoction for the smart-thinking, deep-drinking, good-at-their-game-in-the-morning crowd.
  • ROASTED IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS: It’s all deep, dark and delicious, roasted right below the towering Canadian Rocky Mountain peaks. In our facility we only make only one thing: coffee! It's roasted from one ingredient only: green coffee. We don't use preservatives, additives, fillers or flavoring.
  • AROMA: Sweet dried fruit, toasted coconut, and chocolate malt.
  • ALL ORGANIC & SUSTAINABLY SOURCED: Grown in a socially and environmentally responsible way, by farmers with sustainable businesses they can depend on.
  • 100% ARABICA COFFEE: Magic bean? Oh, goodness. From deep, dark & delicious, to lively and bright our beans are generally cultivated at higher elevation and shade grown, for uncompromising quality and taste.
  • RECOMMENDED BREW METHOD: Our Coffee is medium fine grind which is perfect for French Press, Drip, and Pour Over, and Cold Brew

Smooth, savory, seductive. The three sisters are a trio of towering Canadian Rocky Mountains. We pay homage to these powerful peaks with a triple punch of light, medium and dark roasts. Great taste hits new heights.

I like it’s organic and Fairtrade. The taste is smooth, with a slight bitterness, which adds depth but might not be for everyone. The aroma is mild, and when brewed with my espresso machine, the crema isn’t as rich as I’d like. Overall, it’s a solid, ethically-sourced coffee, but it lacks a strong scent and rich crema.

We were looking for an organic coffee that could replace Lavazza Super Crema and this one seems to be the one.Tastes as great and has almost as much crema.I tried as straight espresso shot and cappuccino and it tastes as good as the Lavazza.

Nice flavor, strength was perfect. I like a darker roast and I liked the one.

A nice smooth and rich coffee. Nice 2lb pouch of coffee beans with a clean and smooth kick and not an intense feeling that makes you feel bad. The caffeine is good and boosts you up really well.

Our son recommended it, because his father was having problems with coffee upsetting his stomach. i was not drinking much coffee either. We like the taste and we both are drinking it now. Like the flavor. Dad has not had an upset stomach!

Three Sisters coffee is a great way to start a new day. I use a French press to make my coffee and I drink it black with no sugar or other additives. While Three Sisters blend is advertised as having “notes of stone fruit, cocoa, and toasted coconut, [plus] offering a sweet and chocolatey experience,” all I taste is a very pleasant, non-acidic coffee with no bitter aftertaste. Is it the best coffee I’ve ever tasted? No. But it is the best coffee I’ve ever made myself, at home. — I was paying $1.66/ounce for fresh roasted coffee beans at local roasters, and while they yielded good coffee I prefer the flavor, smoothness, and lack of bitter aftertaste offered by the Three Sisters blend. So, for me, Kicking Horse Three Sisters coffee beans at $1.01 / ounce is a bargain.

This definitely is my favorite coffee! We buy beans for our expresso machine and this brand is the best! The smell when it's grounded is amazing, and the taste is delectable! I love it and I definitely recommend it!

If my world travels, this is the best coffee I have found outside of South East Asia. I cannot find anything that can match its roast, smokey flavour, and satisfying finish. There is actual body here, not just dark roast. I don’t know how they came up with such a great coffee, but I am buying. The only thing I dislike about this is that they only allow me to buy 5 bags at a time. I would prefer to order 10 because I struggle with remembering and am always running out.

I highlighted the DARK in the title because coffee drinkers deserve to know a mostly recent health concern being ignored from discussion. Only within the last few years the issue of Acrylamide has popped up, a cancer causing chemical also created in the roasting of coffee. Contrary to original belief that a hotter and longer burn equals higher levels (kettle cooked potato chips have more than regular), a longer roast of the beans allows this chemical to evapourate and have less in your coffee (medium and light having more - instant coffee having the highest, but DYOR).So why not only drink dark roast if better safe than sorry with your daily favourite beverage? This selection reminds me of the strong flavourful roasts from that big brand on every corner but without the bitter taste or oily beans that can ruin my grinder.

The coffee is delicious, and spouse is very happy. Getting into the package was brutal, and doesn't "peel to open" at all. I highly recommend making it easier to get into, as well as making the top resealable.

As someone who considers himself a horse manure connoisseur I was very pleased when I opened this bag of coffee, stuck my face into the bag, and inhaled deeply. The earthy, musty scent of horse manure is very forward and unmistakable. This was such an amazing surprise, I became almost giddy. I could not wait to grind and brew a cup in my Chemex coffee pot. And I have to say this coffee does not disappoint! It tastes exactly like it smells and exudes all of the flavor notes one expects when one ingests manure. The only downside I can find is that it does not have the flavor of a fresh manure but more that of a manure that has sat in a pile for several months to a year. But considering I have never had another coffee that tastes so much like manure I don't know that this can really be counted against it. Perhaps stale manure is the only manure flavor that can be imparted to coffee. Either way, I am a huge fan and this will be my go-to blend for life! If you are as much of a horse manure fan as I am then please do not hesitate and get yourself a bag of this wonderful coffee today.

Anyone else notice the price of coffee getting higher and the coffee bags getting smaller? I discovered Three Sisters at the grocery store during a coffee sale. It was a pleasant step up from the bulk bin and when discounted offered good value. Likewise I caught a good sale of this on Amazon and picked up a 2.2lb bag to tide me over. This is a "medium to dark" roast with a slight astringency and low acid. It's slightly sweet, smooth and had a round medium body when brewed properly. It doesn't linger and it's not exceptionally fragrant. I lean toward dark espresso roasts but need a change up once in a while. This makes a very good but not great cup of coffee and is usually reliable from bag to bag, retailer to retailer in my experience. At a premium price point there are better options when you have the time to hunt them down. But this is very good to have on hand for every day especially if fresh and on sale.
