This is smaller in diameter than the .031” (.8mm) solder I use for bigger connections. It is great when the traces on a board are close together. Flows wonderfully. Same price per ounce as the lesser solder. You just have to buy it in a 1 pound roll. I will probably never use it all. Kester 44. The good stuff. 63 percent tin and 37 percent lead.

This is good solder. I did have an issue with the shipment but eventually received my Kester 44.My only complaint with this solder is that the flux core occasionally will splatter, but it’s manageable

This solder does cost more than some other options, and it is absolutely worth every penny. My old supply of 60/40 that I bought up when rat shack was going out of business had been running low, and having tried other solder I splashed out for a pound of this stuff. I'm so glad I did... Melts and flows better than any other rosin core solder I have ever used. Kester 44 is seriously a pleasure to work with, and I doubt I'll use any other brand of solder again. Do not waste your time or money with the cheap stuff... It really isn't worth it. You pay for quality with this stuff.

I needed something with a high melting point to solder/connect the legs of the magnetron to white outside connector. This worked and kept very well.

63/37 solder is the best for all electronic work as there is no plastic state while cooling - it immediately goes from liquid to solid.Leaded solder is perfectly safe if you keep it out of your mouth.

Been soldering for 20+ years. Generic solder works well if to have the soldering skills. This solder is really amazing and after you use it, you will realize the extra cost of kester over other cheap brands is well worth it. Good quality shiny solder joints are easy with this.
