The first one came in with a damaged case and cracked paddle spine. The replace came in just fine, so assuming a shipping problem. My first use on a river went ok. The paddle held up to some heavy abuse; slamming into rocks, scraping the bottom, using it a as lever to get past obstacles, and other river abuses. It held up well with only a few scratches and abrasions, for the abuse. The weight is comfortable. I did find the slide to adjust a bit difficult to adjust, but with a bit a twisting it would move.My only complaint is I found it had a lack of power. Even with the full blade in the water I couldn't generate the power I needed to overcome obstacles.

How about a model name for thispaddle? What to call it? It's aWerner Camano spin off for sure.Very experienced advancedtouring kayaker here. Accustomedto a long narrow wind type blade.Bought the Wonitago as acomplement and I'm very satisfied.Quality is very apparent. 10 cmextension, quick release, bladedesign & color scheme all very nice.Weight acceptable for a paddlerwho's hard to please. Performancesurprisingly good in a wide rangeof conditions. Not as agile as anarrow bladed paddle but makesup for it with displacement, powerand speed. To support a previousreviewer: Make carefulalignment marks on both shaftsections where they meet. One sideis the white index line and the otheris the right or left feathering scale.Degree mark of your choice.Half the price of a new comparableWerner and overall an outstandingvalue. Highly recommended.

These are really nice paddles. I looked and looked for a lightweight paddle that wasn’t too expensive and this was about the only one I could find. I bought a red paddle for myself and the yellow and green paddle for my wife. We have already kayaked a couple rivers with plenty of rocks and a few lakes. I have a few light scratches on mine, but they have held up really well even though I’ve pushed off some rocks probably harder than I should have with it. As others have mentioned, the tube on these does have a slightly rough finish, but it does not bother either of our hands at all. The clamp works well. No complaints at all.

Not bad at all for the price. I do with there were a longer version as I paddle pretty wide inflatables. They are super light weight and strong. I was pushing off of rocks and logs and mud all day and they looked fine after. The shaft appears to be almost raw carbon fiber which is odd to me. Maybe to save a few ounces? May want to wear gloves with em these though.

One of the most striking looking paddles I have seen. Carbon shaft with adjustable length and angle.

The fiberglass blades have incredible lightweight stiffness relative to high quality nylon blades. The carbon shaft is comfortable to grip on the water while also being strong and very light. The simple and un-ferruled joint is the the only notable drawback as all the markings required to line up your indexing are hidden when locked in the 230cm position. The upside to this design is increased fine control over preferential index and shaft length. I would personally recommend making a fine notch next to the male component of the joint midline in order to more easily visualize alignment during quick field index adjustments.Additionally, the locking mechanism can be easily adjusted for the sake of a secure hold with a small Phillips screwdriver as needed. It compares favorably to the Werner Baja blade shape regarding it's pull through the water, though it takes some additional control to avoid flutter during certain backhand stroke maneuvers.Overall, a very solid 9.5/10 paddle with a lovely aesthetic (in red specifically).
