A little bit of grease goes a long way, but when you have a phantom 85 you can shave the teeth of one of these things down to toothpicks pretty quickly. Lower quality metal, I'm not sure why. This has always been one of the Achilles heels of my cruising bike. This little turd right here. It's perfectly fine for anyone sane using a 75cc engine or less (true displacement, under 47.8 mm bore), but I feel like there should be a higher quality aerospace titanium version or some sort of stainless steel one at least. I'm tired of this soft steel crap. Given the open nature of these bikes you would think somebody already made a sprocket like this, but no. If you're reading this and have done that, I don't have the tools to do it, this is your calling. I will buy at any price.I will say though, maybe they're onto something making it out of weaker metal. I can remember one time when I was blazing down the road when it was black out, and I hadn't adjusted my mag wheels yet. Because of this, my rear sprocket was loose and broke off, causing the chain to wrap in the engine and I would have been injured severely (was taking a wide turn at 37 mph over 10 mi away from home) as well as destroyed the motor if the cheap metal didn't allow for the teeth to explode off of the sprocket. Something that could have been a disaster was a minor inconvenience. Anyone who put a phantom 85 engine on their bicycle has a death wish though, hook me up with that tough sprocket.

Bought this one to replace faulty sprocket that came with my 80cc bike engine, tested it with my chain and calipers and it’s spot on. And actually seems better Made in general than the one that came with the engine (cleaner cut teeth) I had to file the keyway a bit to get it to fit it was cut too narrow but after modifying it it works great.
