This is not a precision tool but for most of the things that I need one for it works like a champ. Most of the time my good gauges stay in my tool box so they stay nice for when I really need something that is dead on. If I drop this one I think that Amazon can supply another one for less than shipping out my good ones, even shipping one way. I like the fact that the numbers are large on this tool, and 4 inch (100mm) capacity does most of the measuring that I need.

It seemed like a nice little tool, worked fine the first few times that I used it but after my "return window" closed, it started becoming VERY INACCURATE. I tried changing the batteries 2x still not accurate and when I say not accurate I mean way off . . . like 5-10mm off. I'm really sorry that I wasted my money on this and I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND this 4" digital caliper.

Great little tool that I bought for my sewing/project room and have since used for various measuring purposes. I like the small size but I believe having a wheel adjustment to "dial" in the measurement would be better. I find it difficult to manually adjust it to exactly the point I want. Admittedly, for most sewing projects I just use the little hem gauge. I'm a gadget lover--what can I say? 5 stars because it does as advertised.

I am not an expert so I cannot give a review for people who need a precision tool. As a home owner that just makes a few casual measurements I am very happy with it. It is easy to use and has a nice clean design and seems to be well made. For the users that need accuracy, I would recommend going ahead and buying it and then make measurements against a known standard. If it does not measure up (pun intended), send it back and write a scathing review. I have a hunch it will work. This tool does not seem like junk to me.

Very nice tool for the money. I bought it for general shop work. I didn't need Machinist precision so this too for the bill for quickly checking sizes of bolts, screws, and thickness of stock materials. I would recommend this for anyone for general use. Well built, much better than plastic versions.

I am not a scientist or engineer and don't need this for critical work, but if you just want something you can use for the occasional reasonably accurate measurements, than this should do the job pretty well.It has a nice solid feel and does not jerk when moving the slide. It's also nice and tight.for what it costs, you could do a lot worse
