Wish it had more cold effect while holding ready ice. Cubes are a little 'watery' putting them into a cube bucket in the real freezer. Not made to be a stand alone, independent maker. EX., If you purchase thinking no more ice trays,...correct. If you think you'll always have ice ready outside of the freezer and you just freed up more room in the freezer, wont work for you. I wanted to leave the ice machine basically running full time as a lot of ice is used, however once the ice tray of the maker is full and sits for a while, the ice will begin to slowly melt. Once the machine senses inactivity (not sure of the duration), the machine will auto shut down, go to standby and melt the current ready ice. Whoops. But makes for good if you can live with an ice bucket in the freezer to dump the machine ice into every full cycle.

I was worried that this ice maker wouldn’t be any good because the price was so low. But it fit my space requirements so I thought I’d try it. Well it is well worth the price! It is a real workhorse and easy to set up and use. It will keep the ice frozen while plugged in but they advise against it, so I just make enough for a small container in my freezer and that lasts me a day or two.I definitely recommend it is you have a small space.

Here's my thoughts on this portable ice maker:1) The machine is very easy and simple to use. The functions are clearly marked on the machine.2) It's pretty quiet. My cat (being really nosy) actually sat near this machine as it was making ice. She normally runs from any loud appliance. So, this is a very nice aspect to this machine.3) It took one hour to make a full basket of ice and about 9-10 minutes for the first set of cubes to be made. After the first set of cubes dropped in the basket, it seemed to get a little faster. I made the small ice cubes (pictured) but you can change the setting and make large ice cubes.A couple of things to note:They recommend using pure/filtered water in this machine. Also, when you first get it, per the instructions, it says to let the machine sit upright for the first 24 hours before first use. This allows the coolant to settle to the bottom of the machine. They also recommend you discard the first 4 baskets of ice you make in order for the machine to be adequately cleaned.Overall, this is doing a good job so far and I'm happy with it.

I purchased this ice machine because we have needed one now for a bit as I really don't appreciate buying bagged ice when my Fridge ice maker can't keep up with our demand. Here in this house we are all ice lovers all year round no matter what the temp is outside. So to just have a backup I purchased this after reading the reviews of course. It's definitely smaller then I thought BUT size has nothing to do with this mighty ice making machine. Wow. I am so impressed with how much this little thing puts out right away. It's a awesome ice machine and that's no lie. The water compartment is small but that's not a deal breaker because filling it is no problem. Mine has a slight squeak and I am just thinking it may be because it's new so no drama here. Take the time to appreciate the smaller things in life because this machine certainly does not put out ice like its small. Give it a try.
