if you are a thru hiker, ultralight hiker, or just a hiker this is a breakthrough. Used to be when it was time to refill your water bottle you had to get your cnoc bladder, fill it up at a stream, press it awkwardly into a water bottle, push hard especially if it was starting to clog up, then put it away and resume your hike. I always figured there had to be a better way. With this thing just fill up your bottle, put the top one and keep moving...barely slowing down. Some people use the sawyer squeeze this way but it sticks way out the top and flow rate is not great. I am finding I dont even have to squeeze this thing, just suck the water in and its just like a regular water bottle. So much better. The weights are the same or better, and the big improvement is the hassle free system, just fill and go. The bottle stands up unlike the weird ones that come with the befree.Even if you are a day hiker this is great, knowing you can refill at any water source. Easy to find vacuum insulated rigid containers for work or home use, and lightweight insulated bottles as well. I am a big fan.

Perfect for bike packing and just general use. I noticed it occasionally leaks around the rim. But a lot of bike bottles do the same.
