I bought the Smart Instant Hot Water Recirculating System Pump with 3 Speed and Built-in Thermostat together with the Hot Water Recirculating System Pump Control, which was easy to pair with the pump but I seldom use it.I previously had a Laing ACT-909 recirculating pump, which had served reliably for almost 20 years. Out of curiosity, I took it apart and I'm sure if I had spare rubber parts, I would be able to repair it (but for the manufacturers it is more profitable selling new models than selling parts). There is a wide range of recirculating pumps on the market and I'm very glad that I chose this one. I use Economy Mode and it suits me perfectly, much better than the previous pump with a timer. There are different opinions about this pump in reviews, perhaps some dissatisfaction might be prevented if the instructions were written more sensibly and shorter. For example, it was unreasonable to put the markings for IN and OUT on the removable plastic cups, they should be stuck on the pump body. Even better is using the labels WARM and COLD. There is an arrow on the pump body but it is easy to overlook it.Perhaps the best instruction would be: look at the hand icon, the finger index is pointing in direction OUT/COLD.The bearings of the motor that drive the pump are lubricated with water. If the motor axis were in a vertical position, then bubbles could get trapped in the bearing pocket and worsen the lubrication. Therefore, the pump MUST NOT be in a vertical position. Such an explanation for installation is more valuable than some picture, but without an explanation WHY it is required. The ideal, but expensive solution for distributing hot and cold water would be using three pipes (plus a return pipe). However, if the return pipe is missing, then a cold water pipe can be used. This results in the cold water pipe being filled with warm water. So this is not a pump defect that you get warm water from the cold faucet. Just wait a while, flush the pipe and you get the cold water. The pump comes with T-fittings. Some people find them ideal, some less so, depending on how the water supply is arranged under sink. In my opinion, if the installation piece were designed so that the connection to the pump would not be in the middle, but at the end, then it would be more versatile for any arrangement of water supplies. In my opinion, Economy Mode is the best. If you want to improve the economy further, then lower the temperature with the remote control. The pump deserves an award for design and also is affordable. I am very satisfied with it, and I highly recommend it to other customers. If you are not a professional, read the lengthy instructions before attempting installation. And once again: for proper function, the hand icon index finger is pointing to OUT/COLD water. And for proper bearing lubrication the pump axis has to be horizontally placed.

The remote works as it should. Turns on the pump and adjusts the temperature up/down. Pairing is easy: hold down a button for 5 seconds immediately after plugging in power to the pump. The instructions do not show how to replace the battery. There's no obvious cover to remove to get to the battery.

We use the manual mode, which warms the water within 2 minutes. Previously nearly five gallons and ten minutes (from our low-flow shower) were needed before showering.

I live in a State experiencing drought. Many of us are hauling buckets of water from sinks and showers to avoid wasting water when waiting for hot water.I have one bathroom that is far away from the water heater and a lot of water has to flow before the hot stuff arrives. This simple pump has made life much easier. It was pretty simple to install under the bathroom sink (Note: you do need an outlet). The remote control is great for me, as I don't want it to keep hot water available all the time. With the remote, it's "on demand". Even at the lowest speed setting, it takes less than 6 minutes for it to deliver hot water. I recommend this recirculating pump.

I would have assigned 5 stars if it was possible to control the pump system with 2 remotes - one in a bathroom and one in the kitchen, just as others (such as kenneth Coleman) have said. I emailed the company about this, wondering if maybe a universal garage door learning remote could be programmed to do this function but they have not responded, except to say they'd ask the engineers. If anyone has a universal garage door learning remote they can try this with, please post your results here!Otherwise, one way this can be accomplished is with a Smart Switch button pusher, like this one from Amazon:https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=SwitchBot+Smart+Switch+Button+Pusher&ref=nb_sb_noss_2controlled by a Smart Switch dedicated remote like this from Amazon:https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=SwitchBot+Remote+One+Touch+Button&ref=nb_sb_noss_2but a simple universal learning garage door opener would be much cheaper and simpler! I haven't tried either of these yet - I just ask my wife to go upstairs and push the button on the remote in the bathroom......Lastly - when the battery in the remote runs down, how do you replace it?----------General comment on the installation of the system:Recirculating the hot water backwards down the cold line from the highest faucet in the house is genius. Who thought of that? Why didn't I think of that years ago? Works great to save water. Some complained about hot or warm water in the cold line when doing this, which is logical, but for reasons I'm not too sure I can explain, this did not happen to us - when the unit shuts off (in our house, this takes about 2 minutes), at all cold faucets I have cold water. And because most of our faucets are below the highest one (where we have the pump), within seconds after the pump shuts off we have super hot water at every hot water faucet.Because our faucet at the highest point could easily get air, I installed an air bleeder valve in both the hot and cold lines next to the Prozrted pump system. I was lucky I have plenty of room under the sink to do this. I used 2 of these air bleeder valves from Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V4W5CF4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We never seem to take showers at the same time during the day. So now I can just hit the switch and have hot water to take a shower whenever I want.
