I purchased this stapler about a month ago. I finally had the opportunity to try it out at work. A helper an I installed 60' of 1x6x6 fence boards. The stapler worked flawlessly, not a single misfire. Unlike other staplers I've over the years this one has an open slot for the staples, it is easy to tell when you need to load in another clip. I used it in the bump fire mode, which is what I am use to on air staplers. It is great for what I do, it is not for nailing off roof or wall sheathing on a whole house; though if you had a small job I'd use it. I'd just put in more staples to compensate for the narrow crown. The gun was light, functioned flawlessly and was a true pleasure to use. I recommend it.

This is a great tool! I work in set construction for a community theater and I use this to attach 1/4" plywood to 2x2 frames to make walls and set pieces with 1 1/4" staples. I've used lots of air fastening tools and this is my favorite so far. I've shot more than 2,000 staples without any problems. I like the bump-fire option. The tool comfortable to use and has not misfired or jammed or anything but performed flawlessly. The magazine is easy and quick to load and it is easy to see how many staples are left. Mine came with a good case and pair of safety glasses. You'll also need oil.

In the month that I've owned this, I've fired over 10k staples into a variety of materials without a single misfire. Fastener is always properly sunk, excellent feel in the hand. As a commercial cabinetmaker, I'd offer that you won't find at better gun at double this price point. The only one I ever used that I honestly liked better was a Grex, but this weighs half that and seems to drive as well. Longevity is the only remaining question now, and I am optimistic.Pros: LightweightRemaining fasteners clearly visible (no cute window)Durable (survived a few drop tests already)Cons: None, really.

Mostly use other brands but wanted to try this one. After 40 years of installing cabinets it works well. just a little light on power when stapling maple to maple. Great for stapling plywood to maple and maple to pine cleats. The safety gets a little into the way when using behind face frames. It is light and easy to use all day at work.

Great stapler. Easily sets staples at proper depth in hardwood, plywood or MDF. Have used this unit on an almost daily basis and has functioned flawlessly with no jams or misfires. As a bonus, I ordered the Class C refurb unit, which is supposed to have some minor scratches or dings. When I got the package, the carrying case looked like it had seen some use. Then I opened the case and to my surprise, the stapler looks brand new, like it had never been used. Overall, very pleased and would recommend this unit to anyone considering a crown stapler. By the way, I also purchased a Hitachi 23 gauge pin nailer and an 18 gauge brad nailer Both of these units were also Class C refurbs and arrived looking like new units. They have also performed perfectly.

I'm a professional residential contractor and my tools get a lot of use. I have a Hitachi framing nailer and also their finish nailer, both of which are about 8 years old. I love those nailers and they still work perfectly to this day. (I'm good about oiling them regularly.) I looked at quite a few staplers to replace the Ridgid stapler that I shouldn't have purchased now that Homer owns them. So many others just have way to many plastic parts, and different brands look so similar that I can't help but wonder how many parts are shared and/or how many companies are REALLY manufacturing the things. (Only 1??)All of that said, this Hitachi stands out from the crowd. The magnesium body is very lightweight, the staple rail is made of metal, it's comfortable to grip and use, it's not terribly loud, ... It's great. It does fall short of perfect though. My one complaint so far is the depth adjustment knob/wheel. It's placement and function are fine, but it's unfortunately made of plastic and the indents in it aren't deep enough. The first time I tried to adjust it, with clean, dry hands, my fingers were just sliding across it without the thing even turning. I had to use my fingernail the catch the indents. It's not a big enough issue for me to deduct a star though, I'll just take it apart and burn deeper grooves in it or something... All in all, I love this thing.

I have not purchased a Hitachi tool before as they were always out of my price range. After going through two cheap finish staplers, I decided I need to get a good one. There is an old woodworking adage about buying tools..."Cuss once when you buy it or cuss at it every time you use it." (pay the price for a good tool or you will be sorry every time you use the cheap tool).Take a look at this tool and then other crown staplers. The first thing you will notice is the is a VERY different design. This looks and acts like someone threw out all the old designs and made a better stapler from scratch. It is lightweight, strong, and fast. The external staple track felt a little odd compared to my other air fasteners that have closed slides, but no problems in use. No jams, sinks staples well and keeps on going.I told someone at work that this wasn't just a tool, but a work of art to behold. It really is a good looking unit. I am looking at the other Hitachi nailers and there appear to be two design paths. Many of the nailers have the same styling as this and the give away is the front release latch for getting to the feed area (used for jams on other tools...not needed so far on this one!). When it is time to buy my next air gun, Hitachi will be the one that all others are judged by before purchase.Open your wallet, cuss a little at the price, and buy this crown stapler. You will be pleased.
