The fine adjust thumbscrew on the base hits the arm, it needs a new thumbscrew with a shorter thread length and without the boss on the underside of the thumbscrew. The magnet is REALLY tight and hard to turn but it has a nice pull strength.

This indicator holder has a strong magnet. It clamp fits my Starrett Last Word TDI, my Mititoya TDI and Harbor Freight dial indicators.

Only 6" magnet is to weak to hold spring on gage. Not worth the money.

I've used other less-expensive magnetic bases before, this is nothing like them. The magnet actually has a decent amount of grab and the arm is stable! Sure, it's not a Noga or Starrett, but for the price it's darn hard not to like it. The dovetail on mine is a bit tight but not bad, a gentle pry opened it enough to slide the indicator in. The fine-adjust screw might be a bit course for some, but is totally usable. Would buy again without hesitation.The good: price, magnet strength, rigid armThe bad: dovetailThe ugly: ---

Solid little base, holds my dial indicator just fine. I'm actually impressed at how it locks down all the arms with the one screw, was not expecting that good of a quality for this low price.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality--I actually use this to mount a GoPro camera on machinery I am troubleshooting, the magnet is very strong and the arm positioning both precise and stable.
