I picked this up because it specifically says it works for swings, porch swings and sling swings. I’ve been waiting for years to finally get a porch where I could put up a hanging swing or sky chair. Finally, we are almost ready.Originally I was going to put in a beam and toss a rope over it. But when I ran across these I was intrigued to be able to control the way the swing would face. I’m certain that it will take time to figure out exactly where I need it, but this seems the best option.In addition, it’s rated for heavy duty so I can use it for a variety of workout equipment that need to be secured from a beam. I haven’t used a punching bag, but there are a lot of different pulley systems that would work from an overhead beam rather than a weight cage. This offers lots of flexibility.The metal itself is incredibly sturdy. The hardware is solid and the swivel feature will allow me to use a variety of equipment from different angles. It’s rated for 900 lbs, so it should be plenty for whatever I come up with.

Ceiling/Wall Mount Vine review. Brand: VIVAZEN. Start with extra credit for that brand name: VivaZen. I do not see a store on Amazon and do not see any other products on Amazon.Unfortunately what I do see, is many of these ceiling mounts of the same look priced about 2/3 the price of this one. Please note, this one claims 900 lbs and the others claim 600 lbs, so perhaps there is a logical reason after all! And I do notice that VivaZen provides fat lag screws and the Dolibest and others that looks much like this one provides more normal looking screws. But now, looking back and forth, I see the value of that 1/3. The question is, do you need to go beyond 600 lbs? Even hoisting up a side of beef, even most home & ranch engines, 600 lbs could work, but Tool Tim says 900! (TTTim grunting)You will need a good joist / rafter to bolt into. 2x4? no! 2x6 probably not, but you could “sister” onto the side of one for a few linear feet. Not my call, your call! The mounting plate, without hardware, weighs in at 1.01 lbs. It is almost 5/16” thick along its 7” long x 1 9/16” wide frame. Some might want to know what can fit in the '"eye" of this spinning tackle. Photos show.Going to support this newcomer to Amazon with the beefy up approach. 5 Star for 900 lbs. But if you only need 300 or 400, like a side of beef, you can save a third shopping for the lesser mounts. Viva Zen! This thing is heavy duty, with emphasis on heavy! It's rated for 900 pounds so I'm not worried about hanging a full-size punching bag on this. I also like how thick the mounting plate is. Make sure to use the properly rated screws by calculating the weight of the hanger, and the full bag, and add like 50 more lbs to be safe. I used TimberLok screws just to be safe. Unless you're Rocky, I'm pretty sure you won't break this thing.

Used it to mount a swing onto our basement ceiling for our autistic sons. Easy to install. Very sturdy. Feels very secure. Good value for the money.
