These are easy to use but huge for my hands. They fit my husband better. That being said, they seem to work well as long as you're not holding anything hot with them for an extended period of time.

The size was just too big to be of any use to me. I can only recommend that you be careful with the sizes when you place your order.

There are jobs that have higher risk of injury and many of these have to do with heat. These gloves are designed for metal workers, but I am planning on using them in a more simplistic manner, but still dealing with the risk of a burn, so I am thrilled to have these gloves. We have a number of fires in our fireplace throughout the winter and a fire almost every evening when camping. Many times a log is added and some positioning of the logs are necessary, obviously most of these movements are done with tools. But on occasion a log will be manually added or some rearranging is necessary and these gloves are great for a quick hot job like this, without risk of injury. Plus they also provide protection when getting close to a hot fire. These gloves are oversized, but still fit reasonably well allowing a fair amount of dexterity with my fingers, giving me a good hold, even when the heat gets close! Obviously with only a few uses at this point I cannot comment as to the longevity that these gloves will have, but they're a positive benefit of safety from our hot fires.

*** Short update to my original review w/ pics - I have beaten the brakes off these gloves over two long heating seasons and have not been able to damage them. They show no signs of thread separation and continue to protect when tending the wood stove. Side note - Their highest exposure temps to date are near 600 degrees Fahrenheit and I have not been kind to these gloves. Insert the 6th product star here. These heat resistant gloves have a gauntlet cuff I was in need of. Currently offered in just one size, they fit my hands spot on. For size reference, I am an adult male with a +9" palm circumference who normally wears XL in a work glove. These are easy to put on and remove without being too loose with adequate length fingers and thumbs. My application is for tending a parlor style wood burning stove throughout the winter months. This exposes my hands to a firebox that commonly exceeds 450 degrees Fahrenheit. The glove's extended cuff adds a barrier beyond the wrist to avoid burns from accidental contact when reloading the furnace. They have blocked all noticeable heat transfer at my hands and I am very pleased with their performance. Considering how well they work and their economical pricing, (under $10 USD), I will be purchasing another pair when these need to be replaced.

I was looking forward to getting these heat resistant gloves to replace my old ones. I use these for my wood stove and they work fine but the left glove has gaps in the insulation. I turned it inside-out for the picture and you can see the lining is not like a glove inside a glove, but just not sewn between the fingers. It's not enough to burn me if I put the wood in the stove quickly but concerning nonetheless. It seems to be just a one-off. The right glove is fine and they work well enough but quality control needs enhancing.

I normally buy large work gloves for comfort fit or medium nitrile or work gloves for a slim fit for finer dexterity. These fit like most heavy-duty gloves where you don't want a tight fit, at the expense of some dexterity. The outside is leather. The inside of the glove hand is a insulative fabric blend that I'm not sure exactly what it is made of... looks like recycled "cotton foam"-- the batting that is sometimes used as natural fiber insulation. The inner lining of the cuff is some sort of yellow open-weave mesh fabric that looks synthetic, but I'm not sure what it's made of.Overall, they appear to provide decent protection from heat in the hand area. A recommend, especially for the value.
