About this item

  • Size - Drilling diameter: 18mm / 0.71"; round shank diameter: 8mm / 5/16"; total length: 93.5mm / 3.68"; cutting edge angle: 45 degree
  • Material - The high carbon steel forstner drill bit offer high hardness, durability, accuracy and efficiency. It is a reliable and versatile tool for woodworkers to achieve precision drilling in woodworking projects. The cutting edges should be sharpened in time.
  • Feature - Sharp serrated edges create clean, precise and smooth holes, with less cutting resistance, faster chip removal, higher efficiency and speed, and longer service life. The ultra sharp spur help guide it through wood and ensure accurate start holes, reducing slippage during drilling.
  • Applications - Suitable for softwood, hardwood, solid wood, plywood, coated particle board, laminate and MDF. Easily drills flat-bottomed and pocket holes with precise, smooth finish. Widely used for furniture joints and woodworking projects, such as mortise joints, dowels, hinge cups, shelf pin, pocket screw, and other DIY.
  • Note - Used with handheld drills, drill presses, CNC routers, and lathes. More recommended to use on desktop (fixed) equipment. Do not drill metal and non-ferrous metals. Use a cutting oil or lubricant, hold still, control the speed, apply pressure gradually, clear debris, and always wear personal protective equipment. Comes with a plastic storage case.

Utilisé pour percer des trous pour des lampions. Après seulement une dizaine de trous ne coupe plus. Fond très strié car aiguisage de mauvaise qualité. Je ne recommande pas. Et j’ai retourné le forêt.

The initial cuts of this bit are very similar to my Irwin forstner bits. I got a nice smooth clean hole and it cut quickly.

This 1 1/2 in. forstner bit works well. It's straight, doesn't wobble and cut a relatively clean hole in poplar. Some of the cutting edges had burrs, but it didn't seem to hurt the cut. I think the cut would be smoother if the edges were machined better. If you need a hole with a very smooth bottom, you will need to hone the cutting edges. The size is marked on the shaft in mm. I would prefer that it was marked in inches, but I wrote the size on the container and that will work for me.
