Thereed Fibracell strength 5 for tenor sax this in addition to the characteristics of weight and appearance comparable to the reeds in the reed as well as a composition aramid fibers, fibrous materials derived from aerospace research, reinforced with a matrix resin, which prevents the cracks from the edge and extend more the life of the reed.
At the level of the sound, the reeds Fibracell are distinguishable by a quick response, an excellent control of the height and brilliant harmonics.

I bought a strength 5 reed and it honestly plays/feels about the same as my str 3 regular vandoren. Does not feel or play like a 5 at all. However, it is a very good sounding synthetic reed and now I've gotten used to it and can hit my altissimo notes better on this than on the regular wood reeds. I've been playing on the same reed for about 3 months so far and still sounds great and shows no signs of wear and tear. Definitely sounds and plays way better than the clear / gray looking synthetic reeds.

Plays beautifully right out of the box. No need to trim the reed, sand, or soak it before you can play it. Has the same sound of a quality wooden reed, but with the convenience of a synthetic. I play an Allora Vienna Series tenor sax regularly at my church of over 1,500 people and I ALWAYS use Fibracell reeds :)
