Works exactly like it should. Makes the Leica Q easier to grip. I've not experienced the connection issues like other reviewers noted. It is a solid piece of metal (aluminum?), though is a bit spendy for what it is (hence 4 stars).

Delivery etc. were fine and on time, but there is a problem: the item attaches to the camera by sliding the rectangular piece on the left into the camera's hot shoe. That should be a snug fit, but it isn't, and as a result, the thumb rest falls out very easily. I'm honestly pretty unhappy with the result: it wasn't a lot of money overall, but it was enough that it should fit properly. I'd like to ask that the unit be replaced with one that's the proper size to remain on the camera.Were it not for this problem, I'd be very happy with the item. It makes the camera much easier to hold steady, particularly when you are shooting with only one hand or with gloves on.

Seems well made - machined from billet aluminum - but the fit is a litttle loose and the alignment not perfect. It also sticks out more than either I expected or more than the original one my friend has on his. The small amount of movement would make me crazy over time. Perhaps my hot shoe is worn (it’s never been used though) or it’s just not a snug fit.

definitely helps with gripping my leica q more securely, especially if i need to hold my camera with one hand. feels sturdy and made from metal. no exposed branding, as it is tucked into the side facing the camera. i’m also happy that price is reasonable and cheaper than other brands.
