I bought these boas in navy, black and red for a costume fundraiser event I was attending with a friend. I wore the navy and she wore the black. Her black boa did not touch her skin as her outfit had a high neckline. My dress did not so, the navy boa rubbed my neck all night long. I ended up with blue dye on my neck and hands, but it did wash off easily! I wanted REAL ostrich feathers for my boas as I did not want them to look super cheap. This boa is made with REAL OSTRICH FEATHERS because you can FEEL the quill / spine of the feathers ALL throughout! That is the difference of a really cheap / fake feather boa and a better quality one. In the end I got use to the little ‘feather’ spine pricks that lasted all night long knowing it was because I wanted REAL ostrich feathers…. I’m glad I bought this one. I have worn them all to other costume events and the color has held up well. Just be careful not to hang them on any velvet hangers as the color rubs off! I store them separate in gallon size ziplock bags. FUN item to have at your finger tips.

I was shocked when it came because it’s super thick and made well unlike cheap boas. If you’re trying to trim a hat or something else with it you definitely need to trim it down because it’s so full. Great for a costume.
