If I had read the reviews I would’ve learned that it’s plastic. The fact that it’s plastic seems to make it flimsy. My shower head weighs it down and it won’t stay upright 😩.

I had a shower extension that kept spraying water from the back end of the pipe when connected directly to the pipe that comes out the wall. I used the plumbing tape and connected this piece to the wall pipe and then used plumbing tape on the connector to attach the hose from the extension and Yayyyy! No more back spraying from the pipes. It’s not solid metal but not cheap plastic either. I would call it a durable medium grade material that will last, for much less than the solid metal ones.

I picked this up to replace the adapter in my shower, which all of the replacement hoses did not fit in properly and left the shower head wobbly. It fits the normal sized replacement hoses fine, it's easy to install, and works ok. My only complaint is the range of motion is a bit more limited than the old one. I have a 32x48 shower, and with this holder tilted all the way down, attached to a standard down angle pipe, the shower head points at the floor at the back of the shower. Otherwise I'm quite happy with it, so I may see if I can find a pipe with a bit more down angle so as to have some usable adjustment range from this adapter. It's solid, stays where you put it when you tighten the nut down, but is easy to release and move around if you need to, and keeps a secure grip on the shower wand.

I bought this because I had previously bought a replacement shower head, and I didn't realize it had a separate holder that you have to attach to your shower wall. I was not interested in doing that, and I liked the shower head enough that I was looking for another solution. I came across this and decided to try it out. It solved the problem perfectly. It fits onto the pipe that comes out of your wall and also holds the shower head. I don't know if I was just lucky or not, but it holds the new shower head perfectly whereas my old one was quite loose. It also seems to have a sturdier construction than most of these, and was easy to install and tighten up with no leaks on the first try. They even give you plumbers tape in case you don't have any on hand! All in all I'm very very happy with this order and how perfectly it solved my problem.

just to let you know, this appears to be a single all-metal piece with sturdy durability. unfortunately, just the shower head mount piece and its integrated ballhead are metal; the rest is plastic. plastic will break at some point. for the price, this isn't as nice as it could be. you should be able to get all metal full durability for this price point. consider accordingly. 3 stars for now for functionality, minus expected planned obsolescence in the long haul.
