For what it is, it's not bad. Colors blend and change in sequence. It could use longer cords. The water intake HAS NO FILTER. None at all. The depth of the pump is right in the zone for certain bugs that get sucked in and clog the spray head. The head is easy to remove but a bit annoying to clean the small holes.Eventually debris will clog up the pump. You can get at it to clear it, but it's annoying, so prevent needing to do it.I recommend extending the hose to get the pump down. Top 18 inches typically have significant suspended debris. Bottom 18 inches also typically has a lot of debris. So aim to be at least 24 inches from surface and 24 inches from the bottom.Add a filter. That's probably why the filter bag gets in the "typically bought together" But those bags are not fine enough mesh. I'll be making a filter from a 5 gallon bucket with lid and good filter media. A course screen similar to the bag outside and something similar to blue kitchen pad material inside. That is fine enough and with enough area will let in enough water. Now to find my filter materials...Currently I have a big Cheese ball container with several 2 inch diameter holes cut in it and a T-shirt filtering. That works, but won't survive long.

This fountain worked right out of the box and was extremely easy to set up. I am now four months into having this fountain. The fountain works really well but half of the lights no longer work. Very disappointed since we do a lot of outside entertainment.Well I’ve had two of these in two years and I have the same issue with both; within 4-6 months the lights pretty much quit working.

My pond has lots of fish and plants and there is a lot of movement. We put a large mesh bag around the pump before we ever put it in the water. The holes do become partially plugged and need to be cleaned out two or three times during the summer but the lights and sound of water is well worth it. The holes are easy to clean if you unscrew the cap. It took me a while to realize how easily it unscrews. A few of the lights have failed but it has been in continuous operation for at least 6 months in the past two summers. Very happy with it.

This is good as long as you are installing in clean water. Will not work well if there is a lot of debris
