Sturdy and well made. Light weight and easy to clean. Good space on the steel grip. My only suggestion, if you buy this and intend to put hot liquids into it, wrap the handle with paracord or leather to save your fingers from burning! Highly recommend.

Purchased this just 6 months ago for use at home for routine water/tea use. Top of welded handle broke off the cup recently. I reached out to GSI customer service as they state their products have a lifetime warranty, and this was clearly a defect/defective design of a weld with a finite lifespan. Customer service responded with a “I don't believe that is ours.“ even after I sent them a copy of my Amazon receipt. Then they indicated I should take it up with Amazon when the return window already closed. So much for lifetime warranty.

I really like this mug. I like it so much that when I left it in a U-Haul accidentally, I ordered a replacement immediately. We got the mug back from U-Haul, so now I have a spare. This is rugged, easy to clean in the field and in the dishwasher at home, quality stainless steel (never a hint of rust). It's been taken on dozens of camping trips. There may be lighter mugs, but for the money this can't be beat.

Not sure if it was made by GSI no emblem ingrained on metal. Appears to made of stainless steel made China.

Im really into bushcraft and camping and I this is my fav cup yet. Single wall stainless means you never have to worry about breaking it and it can be put on the fire. Very light although I would like it to be a bit thinker. The handle fits my man fingers, which most cups like this dont. Im unsure however how well the handle will remain fastened to the cup. We will see with time. Ive only been using it for a couple weeks camping and at home everyday.

Needed a cup for both the office and for when I go camping upstate, this fit the bill perfectly. Great little cup.As some others have mentioned, the inside is brushed metal, so make sure you clean it right after use, otherwise you risk residue getting stuck in those little ridges. You'll know you waited too long because after washing, you'll see a subtle dark line remains behind no matter how hard you scrub. This hasn't really impaired my time with the cup at all, though. One thing I really like about this cup is the handle - it looks like it might be flimsy, but it's not, and it's a bit oversized which makes it easier to hold, and also ensures your knuckles don't brush against the interior of the cup (which obviously can become incredibly hot). I haven't had a single burned knuckle since I switched to this thing. All in all definitely worth the price, but if you're actively avoiding getting a cup with a brushed metal interior, this isn't the one for you. That would be the only reason I wouldn't recommend it.

Good cup. Used it once so far on a portaging/ camping trip and it held up ok. Time will tell if it lasts.

For coffee drinkers:- It's a lot more lightweight than ceramic mugs. Until you get used to that, set it down slowly.- It's thin, contributing to its weight, obviously, but it also makes the cup prone to potentially being bent and misshapen if kept in a bag for travel or merely squeezing it a little too hard (though I don't imagine anyone will be doing that when filled with freshly poured coffee).- In terms of palming your mug, if you typically do that, remember this is a thin, steel cup, so you'll feel the heat on freshly poured coffee. Not a problem if holding by the handle.- The handle (take a look at the photo provided) is very ergonomic and practical. Nothing too fancy about it, but its shape provides easy transfer of movement from table to mouth.- If you're used to ceramic, you will smell and taste the steel. I don't notice TOO much of a difference when actually sipping coffee, but it will be noticeable. If you don't want any other flavors and scents mingling into your coffee drinking experience, stick with ceramic.- This being steel, heat will dissipate much more quickly. This isn't exact but, perhaps twice as quickly as in ceramic. Those are the highlights. The cup is very simple. It serves a very simple purpose and there's no bells and whistles about it at all. It's easy to clean and (if you think this to be a benefit) DOES cool your freshly brewed coffee down noticeably quicker than a ceramic mug would. It's best used for campfire coffees and quick drinks. I would still recommend ceramic over steel if your focus is on the coffee and the experience of drinking coffee (a slower experience). If you're focus is on getting coffee into your body so that you can do other things (a faster experience), this steel mug wouldn't be a bad investment.

This handy cup makes for a great survivalist item. Alot of people have complained that when they pour hot beverages in the cup the handle gets too hot and they are unable to hold it. That my Amazonian friends is science. This entire cup is made of stainless steel and when you add an extremely hot beverage in a metal cup it will of course absorb and retain that temperature. By the way, when the handle is hot the lip of the cup will also be hot. So do what a patient and logical person would do, wait for your beverage to cool down or use another type of cup. I would recommend this cup for warm-cold beverages.

Some reviews/comments have been about the size. I personally find the size to be excellent for a solo cup. Boils waters nicely, and is an excellent container for outdoor use. This cup is perfect for what I was looking for, a lightweight, portable, easy to hold, outdoor cup. The fact that it is stainless steel is awesome; it makes it easy to clean and will never rust. Really worth the price.
