Aluminum is the lightest cup you will find. This is cheaper and higher quality than the ones you will find at the camping store. I was very happy once I received it. The only problem I had was the sticker on it left a sticky ring around it that I had to use GoofOff to remove. Just leave the sticker on if you don't want to hassle with the sticky film it leaves behind. Other than that, this is a 10 out of 10 backpacking cup!

Label leaves sticky residue on the cup, very difficult to remove. My third attempt at making this review.

I have a GSA cup that I've traveled the world with. It is literally one of my go-to kit item. I was hoping to get my wife something similar hence this purchase. This thing's a piece of junk. The handles are not nearly long enough to protect your fingers from the burning hot cup that instantly goes from 0 to ouch I'm going to drop the cup in half a second. The connection points where the handle meets the cup are not well made so there are several jagged edges. And by the time the edge of the cup has cooled enough to actually drink the coffee or other liquid the content is cold! Poorly executed GSI!!!

The cup itself is nice but the sticky around the rim top is all but impossible to get off.

I got this mug as a cheap alternative to the titanium mugs out there. It is light weight and does hold liquid, however, the handles and their attachment to the mug are lacking. The handles get stuck and are not easy to open up, then when I close them, they flop open when I don't want them to. Everything else is fine, just worried about the longevity of the item as the handles are already an issue.

This is a great alternative to similar-sized but more costly titanium mugs. Just remember, it's metal, so yeah, it's going to get hot when you put hot liquids in there. Being aluminum, it cools pretty quickly. If you're the type that likes to sip and savor their coffee/tea/cocoa, this may not be for you. If you're the type (like me) that slugs it down pretty quickly once it's reached a safe temperature, it's perfect. I also like the fact that (in a pinch) it can be used on a small stove to heat water for coffee...can't do that with my trusty old Infinity backpacker mug (which is still my go-to for cold weather camping).
