DISCLAIMER: No tuners are ready to go out of the package unless they are sealed tuners. They ALL need the gears greased. This is a common misconception among users. That said..I run a small guitar repair customization shop an Austin and I have used these several times to replace broken missing or damaged tuners. For the vintage guitars these are the cheapest worthwhile replacements I have found. Reliable and totally worth the money. All you need to do is add some tuner oil/grease and they are perfect! The open back version are also very good. As I said just oil/grease the gears well and zero complaints. I’ve used Kluson tuners for old guitars in the past. But for $20-30 less these work every bit as well. I haven’t been let down or had a customer complain yet.

I have an older lower end acoustic guitar that I was refurbishing to give to a kid.I didn't want to put a lot of money into it, so I initially tried to fix the existing tuners, but they were just too far gone to be saved.I tried ordering a similar set that looked looked like a drop in replacement, but turned out to be just different enough to be a pain to install and TBH, were just as bad as the set being replaced.I just tossed those into my spare parts bin and ordered these. It wasn't the drop in replacement either, but they are good enough to be worth the extra cost and the extra work of filling and redrilling the mounting screw holes. They look great on the headstock of the old Harmony acoustic guitar. They also feel much smoother and stay in tune much better than the others.

I've used these tuners several times and have been happy every time. They are the perfect tuner for a budget Jr project.

Funcionó muy bien para mi epiphone les paul junior de la menor gama de la línea, hay que abrir nuevos orificios y funcionan mejor que los de línea

I bought these tuners to bring new life to an old 60's Kay archtop and they have gone above and beyond my expectations. Overall build quality is impressive for what you pay. Tuners are a bit stiff, but hold tune well even with string bending and sitting up for months at a time. I did not use the bushings as the tuner shafts fit very snugly in place of the originals. Only issue I had is that 2 of the mounting screws were missing. I luckily found a couple that matched in my junk box. Also, the artwork on the packaging is very cool and is neat just to have them hanging up on display even if you don't use them.

Just the look I wanted for my les paul junior. Needed to upgrade my tuners and decided on a vintage look. These tuners were just the thing, Very good quality for the price. The gears are smooth and they hold tune well.

Great quality for the price! Looks as good as, or better than the original “vintage” tuners. Good stiff gears hold the tuning very true. I like ‘em.

I purchased them to replace the cheap stock tunners on an epiphone special. They fit great and the quality is comparable to my stock gibson les paul tunners. I bought them for the vintage look and the look great on my tv yellow special and the performance is excellent for thus price range. It was the first time I tried golden gate tunners and it won't be the last!

They hold a tune pretty well. Especially compared to the actual vintage tuners. They look beautiful and are a great way to restore your grandpa's guitar, or add a vintage vibe to a newer one.
