This tool allows you to block off large tubes such as the one on Semi trucks for the air intake exhaust and coolant,. This is the best tool to have when detecting leaks in your intake system on Semi trucks. Hands down GREAT VALUE!!!

My kid used this on his Subaru. It did work and he found the leak. It isn't quite as nice as the rental tool that he used previously. Not bad for occasional use though.

This appeared to be the same set a friend had used on a different issue, so I expected these to be the same rubber adapters. Instead they're hollow plastic, requiring an extra step of adding a rubber hose when testing hard pipe. On the set I expected this to be, the adapters can plug into a solid pipe for quick testing. My friend's set had even worked on leak testing home plumbing as I planned to do after the F350’s turbo was fixed. I guess this is fine as a single use tool for a home mechanic, but I wouldn't expect it to last long if used professionally.

I like that this boost leak detector come with multiple size adapters. It helped me pinpoint a boost leak on one of my hard intercooler lines.

The tool should be good enough for occasional DIY use. My largest disappointment was stepped adapters. I expected them to be made of hard rubber, but they are plastic, very light, and hollow inside. They can only be attached to rubber hoses and even so, I would not recommend tightening the worm band too hard around them, it might damage the plastic.Pressure regulator is a useful add-on to protect the intake from over-pressure. However, pressure gauge is a bit too small and hard to read. Additionally, the valve handle is made of cheap plastic (ABS?), and it feels rather flimsy. One strange thing is that the set in a blue case costs 30% more than identical set in red case. The case itself is also of average quality, it will withstand some use, but eventually expect the two pieces to come apart, they are connected by a thin plastic band.
