I am very pleased with these direct burial fixtures. All components from the heavy plastic body to the brass cover, glass lens, rubber gasket and o-rings and stainless screws. These will survive. The lamp holder swivels for fine aiming. My only beef is that the wires are only a couple of feet long requiring additional wire and connectors in some installations. I highly recommend these fixtures.

The first thing I noticed was that the body of this ground light has solid construction. The brass hooded faceplate is thick and durable, the PVC body is solid with strong design reinforcements, and the connecting screws are flush at the surface and appeared to be leakproof. Further, the bulb has a glass lens, not plastic, and it is flush at the surface to prevent water from pooling at the edge. The o-rings and rubber gaskets are well-made and sufficient. My initial impression was very favorable.Fast forward to the installation... It performs exactly as expected. I got this particular hooded ground light to cast illumination under a picture window, so we needed something that would not spray too much light. It works beautifully. Not only does it work well, I suspect the quality construction will ensure that it lasts a long time. I highly recommend this light.

If you've looked at other products in this space, or especially if you've been looking at GKOLED products, you may have seen my other reviews because I buy a LOT of landscape lighting, and I like GKOLED very much in particular. All of their products - this one included - are of very high quality: smoothly machined and finished solid brass, a sturdy stake, and a bulb and silicone wire nuts all included for an attractive price. These are quality fixtures at a great price!

I am using this as an "up light" under a ponderosa pine tree in my yard. I already had some low voltage (12 volt) wiring running nearby, so it was a simple matter to connect this light and put it in place. The light puts out an attractive warm white (2,700K) light and does a great job of illuminating much of the lower part of the tree. The light puts out 370 lumens which is about the equivalent of a 35 watt incandescent light bulb. The shield lets me provide up-lighting in to the tree without the light being as visible from the road.

I have been slowly adding to my low voltage landscape lighting. This well light is my latest addition. Build quality and design on this light is great in nearly every way. Machining and screws all fit nicely. Gaskets in the right places and even glass that is formed to fit through the metal by being made with a thin edge and thick middle section. Also included are wire nuts that look to be the silicone type but I used existing puncture style connectors. The one BIG miss on this light design for me is the pivot function of the bulb. The way it is designed is not parallel to the shield. I tried rotating the entire shield from the way it was factory installed but there is not a position that puts the bulb able to tilt directly away from the shield. It pivots at around a 45-degree angle to the shield which is odd to me.

I have a menagerie of low-voltage fixtures around my yard. There's one set that I once described as built like a tank (though it failed in just over one year!); but THIS well light looks more like a battleship: a very hefty top-piece of cast and polished brass, oversize screws serve to sandwich the THICK main gasket between the brass shield and the chassis, and a sizeable fixture overall. There are also two o-rings that fit below and above the glass lens, so lots of waterproofing is in place. Not least to mention, the fixture is easy to take apart AND none of the parts break when you do -- which I mention because I've had other fixtures fail because they weren't really designed to have the bulb changed! I've had other supposedly waterproof fixtures that failed in the first big rainstorm, but -- still -- the gaskets on this light are the best I've seen. The fixture arrived with the MR16 bulb out of place, however, which I did not take as a good sign. But I dismantled the fixture and pushed it into place, and it was firmly captured. The instructions describe adjusting the gimbal, which calls attention to the bulb's mount, which can pivot by maybe 10 or 20 degrees. It could pivot more, but the edge of the MR16 bulb quickly comes into contact with the lens of the fixture and that prevents any higher angle.Given how beefy this light is, I was surprised that it wasn't brighter in my garden. But of course it's the bulb, not the casing, that determines light output, and this fixture came equipped with only a 5-watt (150 lumens) bulb, and that may be what you want. Moreover, you can change to a higher wattage that would double or triple the lumens without actually raising the wattage that much. The fixture comes with a 5-year warranty, and it's marketed by a Chicago-based company that's been around since 2017. My hunch is that this fixture will last a good five years or more. It's not cheap, but in this case it seems that you do get what you pay for.

This is a well made light with strong glass and rubber gasket to seal out moisture/water. It was very easy to install with a nice bright light to illuminate an object. The light goes straight up, but it can be adjusted to the object that is being illuminated.

I like the well light. Seem well made. There is one big problem that made me remove one star and that is the waterproof wire connectors that came with it are garbage. They seem to be made for very thin wire so they won’t fit typical landscaping wire gauge. This made me have to go to a hardware store to get decent waterproof connectors which defeats the purpose of buying this online in the first place
