Love it. Fairly priced, solid but lightweight. Gives my kick that extra round and fat "thump" without slowing my pedal down. Highly recommend, even as a second/additional beater.

It is what it is...a wooden bass drum beater. I bought to use on an alesis strike pro kit. They recommend a wooden beater for the mesh drum head. The rod fit my tama iron cobra fine. Some other reviews indicated that it was too thick for their pedal.

Replacement for Tama Speed Cobra Double Beaters. Very nice construction and build quality. Tried them out with the Evans Onyx EMAD and Evans Hydraulic Bass heads and they both sound distinctly different and great with the wood beaters.Found these on the warehouse deal section and for the price of $9 shipped, it was an incredible deal. Wanted to try them out and for that low price I was able to test if I would like them or not. Now they are everyday beaters in my metal playing.

I've got an older set of Roland TD-3K V-Drums and the KD-8 kick pad's rubber "head" was becoming damaged by the abrasion caused by using the stock felt beater on the Yamaha pedal I use with this kit. To avoid the abrasion wear of felt on the rubber pads, Roland recommends a plastic beater. I've always preferred the attack of a wood beater over felt on acoustic heads anyhow, so I figured I'd give this a try. Its a much more economical option over navy of the dual surface plastic beaters, and it works beautifully. Rebound, weight and playing feel are just about perfect.

Good but heavy! Playing sixteen notes with your foot will be very diificult. It won't be impossible, but these will DEFIANTLY slow you down. If you want a ton of volume and punchiness, I would get these

There is actually nothing wrong with the construction of these beaters. They are well made and will likely stand up to many years of use. Also they produce exactly the sound you would expect. They produce a very nice sharp and strong attack. The issue I have with them is that they are heavy. It is something I hadn't thought of when ordering. For some that may be a positive but for me I have found my pedals to be much more sluggish and less responsive. This I believe is 100% due to their extra weight at the beater compared to plastic and felt beaters. If you are looking for a beater with lots of cutting attack that is also heavier than a plastic or felt beater these my be exactly what you want. For me though, they are just too heavy.
