A few weeks back my washer broke the door latch since it was spazzing out I replaced the latch then not long after that it locked up gave e42 error code and I had to pry it open to get my clothes out was gonna just but a cheap new washer to replace mine but apperantly used washers arnt as cheap as they used to be and even though there wasn't a knock off version of this piece it ended up being cheaper than a used washer was a super easy install and it hasn't locked up since so woohooo for being able to wash clothes at home again hopefully for a very very long time

The machine threw a code for the door locking mechanism...so this was the part the hubby bought every urube video had people drilling in through the door not my hubby he was able to replace it after removing a few panels, and it works just as good as it has for the last 15 years! I love that washer as much as I love that man...almost! Thanks for the part that put an end to trips to the laundry mat...

I have an Electrolux EIFLS55IIW and this part fits.Now it's not quite so easy to install as every other reviewer says. It's easy enough but I mean there's more steps than just unscrew the old one and screw the new one in.I found a helpful Youtube video if you search for "replacing door lock on electrolux washer" which got me started:You have to remove the small door trim locking plate which is near your door hinge. Then remove the chrome circular trim counter clockwise a half inch and pull that off and over the door. (I took this opportunity to clean some of the grime found within these areas)*Then* you can unscrew the old hinge (unplug the power at the wall first and unplug the power connector for the door lock). Plug in the power connector on the new door lock replacement and pop it in, screw it in, replace the trim, and replace the locking plate.Not difficult by any means but a couple more steps involved. Good luck.Unfortunately it didn't solve my problem much, I had to replace the strike assembly for more smoother door opening and shutting (I bought both parts simultaneously for good measure), but anyhow it's working better now :-)

I am very pleased with this product, it works perfectly. It was a perfect fit, there was no issues installing and I now have my washing machine back up and running. I am one of those self DIY'ers I reviewed the manual and the internet and determined that it was this piece that may have been the cause of my washing machine giving me the "door unlock" message, which would not allow my washer to work. This is the original Electrolux door lock mechanism piece that I needed for my machine the older model cranberry Model #EIFLW55IRR0. It was also a nice bonus that I didn't have to pay the higher cost to have a mechanic to purchase and install for me. Will definitely continue ordering my parts if needed. Note: I have had my machines for 5 years and this is the first time we have had a problem with one.
