I have seen many crafters use this to help with wire wrapping but I could not get it to cinch tight enough. Maybe I was doing it all wrong but I ended up returning it.

The wedge is way too long to properly hold the wire. I will be cutting some of the wood of the wedge to see if that works. Where is quality control for this company?

How hard is it to make one of these really? It is hard wood, it does clamp and the hinge seems to be ok, however, the material glued to the ends is not very well done and mostly the issue I gave two stars for was that the wedge is not as shown in the photo. It is tapered on one side only so it does not wedge in a 'V' but in a slanted as a triangle and does not making full contact. Not a show-stopper because the wedge does fit, though they could taper the end more so the jaws open further. They open about 1/2" with this triangle wedge. I can cut it into a 'V' shape to make it better but really, sell what you are showing already.

The wooden peg doesn't fit properly but that can be fixed. I think I will spend the extra 10 to get a better one next time. Euro Tool makes a good one.

This broke apart the first time I tried to use it. It seemed there was an area with rotting wood on one side and as soon as I put the wedge in to secure the wire piece I was working on, I had 3 pieces in my hand instead of the two. Just tossed it so I don't have a picture. Granted, it was cheap, but I'd have liked to get at least a couple of uses out of something before I have to throw it away.
