it arrived on time i have plugged it in but hope that it works as I do not have any leaks yet to set it off. It did set off the alarm when i lit a lighter near it.

This device is nice and small, only using one outlet and leaving the other free for other things. Super easy to use, just remove from package and plug it in. There’s a test button on the side that you just hold in for a few seconds. There’s alarm is not as loud as I expected it would be, but loud enough during the night to get your attention. A little pricey, but not as much as others I looked at. I didn’t test it on propane yet, but I’m sure it’ll work great. Good purchase, and arrived a few days earlier than expected.

Folks this gas detector is best thing you could purchase for your family safety, easy plugs into the electrical outlet and it functions accurately too, gives me peace of mind that when I sleep I have a gas detector working 24 hours per day to keep me & my family safe from harmful natural gas fumes .

A few days ago it occurred to me that I have two gas powered items in my garage and no way or getting a warning if for some reason there is a leak. I ordered this product and tested it with a bbq lighter. It worked and the warning siren was loud. I guess these lighters have butane in them. I have no way of testing of it works with other types of gas.

It seems like a good quality product but I guess all I can do is hope it works when needed. I saw others say they put a lighter underneath and it worked, but when I tried it didn’t. Not sure if I needed to do it longer but after 10 seconds I didn’t want to continue and cause an accident.

The unit is small and doesn't take up an entire outlet. I purchased it as the cheeper one I had kept going off when I boiled water... 8-feet away. This one does not react to steam in the air but, when tested with both a butane lighter and by turning on a gas burner for three seconds without letting it light, it is very sensitive to those gasses it is intended to detect. My only 'complaint' is that the green power indicator LED is very bright.
