What stands out with this carabiner is that there is a groove in the narrow section that angles downwards and the wider section angles upwards. This slides the climbing rope away from the gate and puts the rope in a single vector force on the ascent and descent.

I always find myself looking for a carabiner, or sturdy clip. I got these 3 through the Amazon Vine program and am very happy with them. I've used them for camping, and even strapping onto luggage and bags. I keep one in the work bench, and also keep one with an extra rope. Having 3 come at an affordable price is nice. The locking feature is sturdy, but not something I was particularly looking for. Overall - great clips!

I haven't climbed with these yet but have used them for other things, like hanging stuff while camping and helping hold things together. These are really heavy duty carabiners that based on my experience so far would be good for climbing. They can hold a lot and have a great lock feature, but are still easy to open as needed. They will not accidentally open though, at least not in my experience. Definitely a good and safe choice. Be sure to test them somewhere safe first though, just in case.

OK, so how many pounds is 30 kilonewtons you ask? Approximately 6,744 pounds. Each of these caribiners will carry your whole climbing team plus gear! The twist lock/unlock feature is so much better than the caribiners of old.OK, so why did an overweight elderly guy like me buy these? Well, I have a tractor and I use it to sometimes lift things or pull stumps. My chains I use are big and strong but recently a D ring coupler joining two chains broke while I was pulling. That sent the chain flying back towards me and took my hat right off my head! Yikes! So now each D ring coupler I use is going to have one of these babies locked right next to it in case it breaks. Can't be too safe anymore.

I requested these carabiners for my son who is in Scouts. He wanted a locking carabiner, which we found at a local store, but one cost as much as this pack. Even though they were certified I wasn't sure how well they would be made given the price, but I am impressed. The pack of three carabiners come individually wrapped in a nice box with an included instruction pamphlet. They are very well made. The auto locking feature is easy to use, and my son said it is similar to auto locking carabiners he used at a local climbing place.

These are real 30kn climbing carabiners for a really reasonable price. I don't climb, except for trees sometimes, but I am using them for hanging hammocks and also for tying down heavy equiment like motorcycles when they are being transported. For hammocks, they are stronger than the heavy steel carabiners they often come with and much lighter. Plus, being made of aluminum they won't rust. You never have to fiddle with the scree-in type of locks as these automatically lock as soon as you release the gate. Really nice feature.Like I said, can't beat the price, I'm very impressed and I have put some serious weight on them with no deformation at all (big motorcycle lashed down with climbing ropes using trucker's hitches all around).

These look and function great. If I climbed these would be my go to, what I use these for is setting up my hammock gear for camping out. I've also used these to strap up my backpacking gear on trees because who wants to leave their camping gear on the ground where mice can get in to your bedding. Lots of the hammock straps work perfect for a carabiner to hold up the gear off the ground. These hold up great to being carried in the backpacking gear. They also last forever and I still have some steel carabiners that were old military issue stock. They don't make the best keychains and some cars ignitions can be damaged using these carabiners as keychains (but yeah I have done that also). Giving these carabiners a five out of five for function! Thank you! -Mike

30KN UIAA Certified Climbing Carabiner Clips, Auto Locking, Heavy Duty, 3.93 Inch Large, Aluminum, D Shape -, Twist Lock Caribiniers for Rock, Rappelling, and Mountaineering Carbineers GrayI ordered the GABBRO Carabine Clips because I had been looking for an aluminum rock climbing carabiner at an affordable price but not compromise on strength and quality of the carabiner. My intended use is for Fall Protection while working on the roof of our house. I do have Fall Protection equipment and permanently mounted anchor points at the ridge of each level of the roof. I do have steel carabiners that are very strong but cumbersome due to their weight. The GABBRO Carabiner Clip is rated at 13,488 pounds, does have 2024 UIAA certification, but only weighs 2.01 ounces which I love. The spring loaded twist and pull auto locking system is convenient but I suspect many professional rock climbers prefer the screw type instead (matter of preference). The description says Gray Color but it looks more of an subdued black color to me which I like very much, although I would have been fine with unfinished aluminum because I wouldn’t have to look at scratch marks from normal use of the carabiner.I like the Modified D Shape with the notch because it helps to lock the rope in place using a Clove Hitch, akthough I actually use an Anchor Hitch Termination Knot with the load nearest the spine of the carabiner.I like the suggested MSRP and am comfortable with individual pricing at $10 each, is way less then other professional rock climbing aluminum carabiners on the market. I suspect pricing might quickly increase when this item gains popularity with professional rock climbers (I do not nor have ever) or other professionals requiring high quality carabiners. I can’t find any faults with the GABBRO Carabiner Clip and give it a 5 Star rating in my review.
