I saw mixed reviews on this and took a chance because it would come quickly and was cheap, and it's easy to change out. I've had it installed for 2 weeks and mowed with it a couple times and everything seems to be working. This fuel pump is the new design with the vent/drain nipple instead of the hole in the original design that sprays out onto the muffler. This product came with 2 gaskets and the pump. Other options I saw on Amazon had a piece of hose to connect to the drain. I had some fuel hose so that wasn't an issue. An OEM option is 6-8x the cost of this. I'll report back if it fails in the next 6 months.

The fuel pump is not the same as the picture. The picture shows only two tubes and the one I received has three. When installed the one tube was tight to the valve cover so the hose wont fit back on. It is not meant to fit on a John Deere LX188 as stated. Of all the products I have purchased from amazon this is the first time I have had a product that I can say is not worth looking at.

The only thing that was troublesome was there were NO installation diagrams or directions. That would have been helpful as the spacer piece was stuck on the old pump.

DO NOT buy these cheap fuel pumps. They work intermittently . either they dont pump enough gas or leak air into the lines and cause the engine to fail in a hard to solve way. You dont have to buy a $120 version but I went through 4 different $25 or less fuel pumps because I was cheap and they all failed.

This is an exact fit fuel pump at a fraction of the OE Deere price. Installed very easy and so far works great. You will need 12 inches of vent hose if you have an older tractor that was not updated with the safety vent relocation. Any parts store will have it.
