This device works as advertised. I was able to achieve 120Hz at 1440P output from my PC's HDMI port to my DisplayPort monitor. It didn't need separate USB power for this, even though a cable was included. The exterior of the converter has a high-quality metal feel, and it's quite elegant. You'd barely notice it connected to the back of your PC. If you connect it through an unsupported hub, like I tried to do with my MacBook, it came up as a "Non-PnP" monitor, but still worked in 1080P. I'm not docking a star for that, since it was clearly explained that the device does not work through hubs in general.

This adapter is compact, compared to those in the form of a cable. I plug this into my laptop's HDMI port and DP cable on the other end to a 1440p ultrawide monitor. It detects and works fine even without the included USB power cable. With its form factor I can just included in my laptop bag.

Used to temporarily connect an Xbox One to a normal computer monitor that did not have HDMI and the video quality was exactly what I would expect. Definitely a well built product to make HDMI devices connect to DisplayPort on the fly when needed.

The product page does a great job of making it clear that this adapter works one way only. The adapter itself has clear labels—“Source” and “Display”—on both ends. This means the HDMI side must be connected to a computer’s HDMI output, while the DisplayPort side must be connected to a monitor’s DisplayPort input. It will not work in reverse.I have a 4K monitor with two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort input. I wanted to utilize all of them with my computers and laptops, and this adapter works as expected.Interestingly, I didn’t plug in the USB power cable, yet the adapter still functions perfectly. I’m not sure in what situations the USB power is necessary—perhaps for devices with lower power HDMI outputs.

Finding a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter is easy, but HDMI to DisplayPort adapters like this one are not easy to find, especially ones priced so reasonably and of such high quality. I’ve been using this with my DisplayPort monitor and it’s the best picture quality I’ve ever seen on that screen. Probably because this is the first adapter that has actually functioned properly with my monitor. It’s easy to connect and use, but you may also need a bi directional DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to pair with it - at least that’s what I needed for my setup.

Great adapter. There's no picture quality loss, which I was concerned about. It's easy to install, and inexpensive. Connectivity is instant, and it function just as it should.

This came with a USB connection for power, which is a good thing. I guess it needs the power to boost the signal from HSMI to DPORT. Works great from my laptop to my 34" LG display.

No noticeable lag between it and a standard cable. Note you need two of these to convert a DP cable to HDMI.... or just buy an HDMI cable. These are great if you are in a jam and only have DP cables laying around.
