I got two of these and one of them broke in half almost immediately. With very light sparring the staff bent in half and a couple rounds later in snapped in half without making contact with the other staff. I can’t recommend this product.

Look, if you're getting this because you wanted something that isn't wood but still be able to practice, it fits the bill. It won't feel the same, but it will do. If you got it for a relatively safe sparring bo, eh... Let's just say I wouldn't do that.I don't think it'll hold up because of either the foam will wear out quickly (becoming a potential eye hazard due to foam flakes) or the plastic interior will snap if hitting with decent power (which may be why you'd want a *padded* bo in the first place). This seems best suited for practicing forms and for learning technique without worry about accidentally hurting yourself or partners on with an errant move.I do worry how long the foam will hold up from natural friction on the hands, though. I guess you would tape it when that starts happening.But if you're still with getting it at this point, the question then becomes, at ~$40-50 range, are you able to find better options?

Got this today. My son has played with it for maybe 5 mins. Not sparring or anything just playing with it and the foam is already starting to rip!Also they sent an extended warranty sheet to scan to register your product but the page won’t even open! What’s the point of sending warranty info that isn’t even valid!! Very disappointed!
