I went to trace out some cables a while back and discovered the termination solder tab on my Progressive Electronics 200GX Inductive Amplifier (toner probe kit) had broken off. It had a CMS40R5B 32-N0.25-A580 0107 speaker in it, which I was able to determine was a 40mm diameter speaker with 5mm height (and just learned was made by Chinasound). This speaker seems to do the trick for what I need - to be able to hear my toner when trying to trace out cabling at a much lower cost than buying a new Inductive Amplifier.

I KNOW these are super cheap, and did not expect much to begin with, but the seller ships these tiny speakers in a plastic wrapper, NO BOX, NO PADDING. The first pair were bent on the edge so that the speaker would not lay flat, let alone mount flat without straightening - though that probably means they would never sound right anyway. I had them send a replacement pair: Same plastic wrapper: no padding, no box. These were smashed flat like someone sat on them. I give up! They obviously have no pride in their products or their business. Demanding a refund....

I bought 8 of these speakers to use in a model railroad application. They arrived in small zip lock bags with no protection of the speaker cone. The magnets are strong, and the speakers stack up with the magnet of one smashing into the cone of the next. I tested with a sine wave signal source. Two of the eight produce no sound at all. One is highly distorted (rubbing voice coil). Five sound fine and are nice speakers. Second picture is as-shipped. Firs picture is how I'm storing the four I'm keeping to prevent damage.

My 12v outlet in my vehicle stays powered 24/7 and that is what I have my radar detector plugged into. I must have parked in front of a store door or something that made the detector go off for a rather long time causing the speaker to blow. Turns out this was the perfect replacement! It's been a few months and it's working perfectly!
