Purchased to install 3,000 feet of engineered flooring. The flooring is 9/16". Using the available plates to adjust the depth of the cleat (1-1/2"), my options are blow through the grove with the 3/8" plate or hand set ever last cleat with the 5/8" to 9/16" plate. That's right, using the correct plate leaves the cleat high to the point that I either need to set the cleat by hand (with a punch), or beat the next board in using some force (as opposed to normal tapping block activity). Using the 3/8" plate blows out the groove on this particular 9/16" flooring. Needless to say, I'm glad I have a nice punch. The lack of fine depth adjustment is the reason for the 4-star rating. Should really be 3.5-stars. If they had an adjustment screw, would easily be 5-stars.I have only installed the kitchen so far and I have been keeping it oiled-- follow the instructions on which kind of oil to buy --and it runs fine. Unless you are trying to close gaps in the floor when striking the nailer, all it takes is a small tap with the mallet to get the nailer to fire. Just make sure you have firm down pressure on the handle, and of course make sure the back of the head is touching the groove so you don't nail though the face of your flooring (because that never happens).Really wish they had a fine adjustment. Thinking about thinning out the 5/8 - 9/16 plate to get the right depth...

This nailer broke after about 2 hours of use! I’ve used floor nailers from other companies in the past without a problem. This item is under warranty, and I paid $36 to ship back, but am now getting the run around, and working with Amazon to hopefully get a replacement or refund.

Got this to install 1400 sq ft of CaliBamboo nail down floor. The nailer performed flawlessly, is very well built and came with all the parts needed to do the job (except the nails). Only one jammed nail and it was super easy to clear the jam. I'm very happy I bought this.

Good quality and nice accessories. It would be a 5 star if it had some adjustment to force it uses as sometimes it splits the tongue. I know it has a lot to do with the exotic wood (acacia) but it's been used to overnail 120sqft. I've had no jams and only nails not sunk completely due to me not hitting plunger hard enough or at a bad angle.*note of safety... If the unit tips over and hits the plunger it will shoot a nail!

The recommendation on the bamboo floor we purchased was to install using an 18ga nailer. This nailer worked great! We tried a couple of 16ga nailers and they just didn't cut it. So happy I purchased this one. I would highly recommend it for bamboo flooring installation.

This nailer proved to be perfect for installing our new hardwood floor.Almost every cleat ended up at the proper depth, without splitting the tongue. The few that didn't were my fault as i was working too close to the wall and did not strike the nailer cleanly. No regrets about this purchase..I was able to spread out the installation over two weekends without worrying about tool rental cost and return.

So far this has been an excel y purchase. The air pressure required a little adjustment for me (85 psi). The tool is light and well constructed. The only thing I am not 100% sure is the type of oil needed to lubricate the tool before beginning every work day, I think it should be regular 3 in 1.
