Our ground is rocky and has a good amount of clay so digging holes or even trying to sink a piece of rebar into the yard can be hit or miss. Iβve tried auger bits on drills and post driver attachments for my hammer drill with varying degrees of success. This post driver is about as low tech as you can get but it is very effective. It fits over 3/8 rebar with no problem, the handles are a good size, and the driver body is long enough that Iβm not in danger of pulling it completely off the post on the upswing.I use this to sink the stakes for my glass garden flowers which are pretty heavy which is why I use 3/8 rebar or copper pipe. Because this is so easy to use and so effective, I donβt worry about my thrifted glassware art pieces falling over - I know the stakes are driven in far enough to hold the pieces. Great addition to my crafting and DIY.

Its the perfect weight. The grips are great. You can hold on them without them hurting your hands.

Quality materials, very heavy which makes it easier to use. The size is in accordance with everyone of these I have used and it functions well. I had borrowed one that a friend has and his was eighty dollars at the farm store, poorly welded handles and just painted red. This one has bolted handles as well as welded and a really durable coating. Should last well over 100 years!

Should work well and I won't have to keep borrowing my dad's.

We had monster versions of this growing up on a farm. Now, I just need to drive some metal "T" posts occasionally. This is more than adequate. If I was going to use it a lot, I would rivet some sort of extension to the skirt, as I am a big guy and I have to limit my stroke or come off the post. I am very satisfied with this, and really appreciate the rubber isolation grips on the handles. At first, I scoffed at them, thinking "we didn't have those on the farm". After using... "Too bad we didn't".

This post driver is short, and easy to hold onto, but it is very short, and therefore it is easy to push it right up and off the post. You have to make sure you are doing short strokes.

I have a quite a few stakes I need to install in spring due to the fact that my very old driver broke when I attempted to do them in the fall. This driver is just as good quality as anything that your going to find in a store. I did get this right in the middle of a Michigan thaw and was able to test it out by driving a stake next to the neighbors privacy fence panel that was falling over for support,so I was able to use it. Like I said earlier,it's a basic driver that does it's job but what I liked about it right off the bat was the rubber grips on the handles. Although I always use gloves period, these made the grip 10x better and the wider circumference made this a lot more easier and comfortable to use. If you have used or need to use a stake driver like this, the rubber grips are awesome due to the larger and softer handles. I will absolutely update this in spring (or sooner) when I really get to put it to the test. But again,it's the same thing your going to get at a big box retailer. 4.5 stars so far.
