Well made with a net in the back to keep insects and critters out. When I get them painted and on the house it will be a big improvement.

I contacted this manufacturer by phone 3 times prior to purchasing this vent to ensure that I was ordering the correct item per our contractor's specifications. The contractor arrived to find the vent is for decoration only. It contains no effective way to move air. According to Amazon, we are stuck with a nice, expensive piece of decorative cedar.

Leed time was a tad long, I should have ordered it weeks sooner. Pretty solid construction, screened back to keep out pests. Excellent price for the great quality of work. It was easily painted since it was primed already. I would absolutely recommend this company if you need an attic or soffit vent. I am extremely satisfied with this product.

This is a functional vent and has a screen on the backside to keep unwanted pests from getting in through the vents. I installed a fan which vents air out from the attic through the vent. In the pictures you can see the back of the vent and a frame built around it to hold the fan and cover. The vent hole is a few inches bigger than the fan diameter so the frame and cover seals everything up so all the air is vented out more efficiently.

This gable vent is beautifully made. It is solid and crafted of good materials. The back has screening attached so bugs and critters can't get in. Well worth the money.

One word to describe... AWESOME! I put 2 coats of the trim color paint on this and installed in the front of my house. It looks wonderful! The purpose of installing this vent was to accommodate the specs of installing a whole house fan. This perfectly satisfied the requirements.I called the company, Ekena Millwork, and spoke to Beth who answered my remaining questions and sold me on their brand. They have a comprehensive product guide and she showed me where to go on the web to calculate the area of an octagon to get the NFVA (this is an incredibly useful site to calculate the area various geometric shapes!) [...]. It was well worth the investment.
