EVOLUTION GUN WORKS MAUSER 98 LARGE RING PICATINNY RAIL SCOPE MOUNT
Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount, weighing in at 2-3oz on average.
Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. EGW’s one piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and shooters alike. This mount is a Picatinny-style base and compatible with Picatinny or Weaver scope rings.
The mounts are machined in one of EGW’s USA-made Fadal machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability. The entire mount and accessories (from the mounting screws and wrench down to the packaging) are made in the USA.
When zeroing your gun with a 20 MOA mount, we recommend zeroing at 200 yards. For installation EGW recommends 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue Loctite.

I ordered this even though some of the reviews say it doesn't fit, I figured if it needed to be trimmed I could easily do it in a mill so I went for it. I had to do 0 modification to get this to fit a NEF break barrel 30-30

This scope rail is very easy to mount with the included screws. I used it to replace a Weaver Rail that was attached to my 0.500 S&W H&R Handi-Rifle when I purchased it. As experienced shooters will know, the Weaver rail slots, while generally similar to Picatinny rail dimensions, will not accept many scope mounts designed for military-type scopes. In my case, I wanted to mount a 1x prismatic sight on the Handi-Rifle, but the Weaver Rail would not accept the included mount. The EGW Rail arrived within a couple of days of ordering it, it took only about 10 minutes to install, and I was off and running. It performs its function very well, which is all you can ask. Be sure to use a drop of LocTite on the screws for heavy recoiling firearms.

Very good weight and thickness to it. Came with chamfered screws which I really like for the amount of hold you can get out of them compared to flat machine screws. Keeps the rail very centered and true. Also, fit absolutely perfectly on my H&R SB2 in .45-70. Super firm hold and holds zero perfectly. Even comes with a t10 for my torque wrench and all

The picatinny rail fits snug on my NEF Handi Rifle SB2, however the rail extended slightly past the rear of the barrel maybe .015”.. The barrel would close but when firing the rifle would “pop” open. I honed the rail down flush with the barrel to fix the problem. It now works well. The packaging was labeled to fit my rifle, so it should have been an exact fit. Not a difficult fix, but shouldn’t have been required.

I needed to file a bit of the underside back portion of the base. It was contacting the receiver and caused problems opening the action. It doesn't take much filing and is a very easy operation. All 4 bases that I put on my SB-1 and SB-2 fitted barrels screwed right on. Zero problems. It's really a joy to have Picatinny rails on these barrels. The Weaver mounts I've tried on the Picatinny rails also fit.A solid 5 stars!

It actually overhung the breech a fraction, which is within normal variations. A little filing took care of it. The screws were slightly long for mine and I had to shorten them. Again, this is within normal variations for a gun built by two manufacturers over several years.Once installed, it's rock solid. I'm using it on one of the 12 gauge RIFLE projects, with 3.5" brass cartridges and 1000 grain bronze solids.
