Easy Installation
This part is easy to install. Tips for replacing your ice maker:
- Turn off power and water: Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the circuit breaker, and turn off the water supply
- Remove the front cover: Use tape to secure the flipper cover on the left wall in front of the ice maker
- Remove other parts: Take off the wire harness cover and the ice maker itself
- Attach the new mounting plate: Attach the mounting plate to the new ice maker assembly
- Plug in and slide: Plug in the wire harness and slide the ice maker assembly onto the mounting rails
- Reassemble: Replace the wire harness cover and reattach the front cover
- Turn power and water back on: Restore water and electricity to the refrigerator

This replacement works as good as the original. Clear instructions. Make sure to keep the brackets, wires and shields from your old machine because you will need those to install on this one.

It is a very good value for the money, fit perfectly began making ice within a couple of hours. The ice tray is made of a hard plastic. We will see over time how this works out. The old icemaker was a metal tray with a coating, but over time that coating was coming off into my ice. If the plastic lasts I like the idea of the coating not coming off in my ice. So far I am very pleased.

Ice cubes are smaller then the OEM ice maker, but otherwise it works fine. Takes about 20 minutes to remove the nonworking ice maker and install this one.

I like that the ice maker fixed my problem and has been producing ice the few days since installation. Installation was easy, but I did have the bad one in and out a number of times testing it. The thing that I did not like was the electrical cable that goes to the control module was longer than the one that I had originally and extended outside, which in turn did not allow me to install the cover that goes over the connector that comes from the freezer wall.
