Shoes don't last. I just picked up a John Deere X739 with 54" snow blade in September to replace a Simplicity tractor. Today was my 5th time plowing light snow and one of the shoes broke off already. The metal wore through like you were rubbing cloth to sandpaper. I selected these shoes as they cover a larger area than the OEM. Yet, it is not wasting money on. 5 light snows is not even a 1/3 of a season.

I really like these for my plow that goes on my lawn mower. It raised it up so that all my gravel wasn't getting plowed just the snow.

After reading other reviews I was concerned about the grade of the metal. I was pleasantly surprised. It is beefy. That said I have not used it yet, so I do not know the longevity of the metal. But, I think it will do the job. Fits the John Deere 44 inch tractor snow blade perfectly.

these are the second set I've purchased. Using them on a Cabelas brand ATV plow. They are too long to use as is so I cut the legs shorter and they bolt right on. They are a little soft and I wore through one of them in a season and a half. I plan on trying some hard surfacing on this set to see how much difference it makes.

I haven't put these to the test yet, but they seem to be very well made and I think they will hold up much better than the original John Deere skids on my plow.Go figure - I bought these because my OEM skids are nearly worn off, and we haven't had any snowfall to test them since! I highly recommend purchasing these if you want to stop Mother Nature from sending snow your way! It worked for me at least!

Much better than John Deere units that came with my plow! The plate that makes contact with the ground is larger. It spreads the weight and does not wear out as fast. The round design helps it glide across the surface and not dig in.
