I think this is decently made. Heavy metal, full welds, suitable bolts and good mobility in the hook.I would feel safe in a chair hanging by it or anything that needs some gentle ability to move under load. So when I give it 4 stars it includes the option to take down a hanging chair when not in use by simply pulling a pin. It applies to gentle movement under load. The mount could go into a 2x4 ceiling joist (or larger) but this is where I see a potential problem. The hook swings (one way) and swivels 360 but having hung many a heavy bag in my day I don't like the idea of the shock from impacts pulling sideways on a screw going up and a mass hanging down. A well struck bag kind of jumps or bounces faster than this can spin so some impacts are effectively going to torque that plate. That transfers to the bolt head which then applies lateral force to the threads. Over time, weight pulling down + lateral strain + wood = failure. Yes, the bag chains may mitigate some of the transfer but I hear my current set up bouncing and grinding in the upper hook regardless of the chains. So, for a acutal 80lb+ heavy bag I say 3 stars. Lighter and softer bags, see above.

It does not come with instructions. So if you don't know what you are doing I would recommend phoning a friend. If you do know then it's pretty straight forward. The bolts seem to be sufficient for the job, I'm not using the concrete lag bolts. It's a sturdy hangar and clasp. The chain is good quality but short. Our garage ceiling is pretty tall and these chains are far too short for the job.

This is well made. It is strong and will hold a large bag. It comes with bolts and anchors. Definitely glad I got it.
