I've have this item for a year now. It's been working great. Only complaint I can think of giving is when I punch on my heavy bag there's metal flakes falling onto the floor. I have to sweep quite often to keep it picked up. But it's not broken yet

Being a retired union elevator mechanic, I'm used to mounting devices that are under a lot of stress, and I'm totally impressed with the craftsmanship and everything about this device.

This is a sturdy hanger and is working really well for our 80lb heavy bag. It lets the bag swing and pivot. Only things to be aware of are: the carabiner that comes with it is not as sturdy as the rest of the components, but if you need to upgrade it's simple switch; on the one I received the instructions said the lag screw needed a 19mm socket and a large drill, but when measuring the screws it turned out to only be a 17mm screw, hence needed small drill for the hold and smaller socket. If you have to pop on by your local hardware store for a socket/drill, take the lag screw along to make sure you get the right size.

Easy to install, great quality, safe to use! I have two of these and they easily support my 100lb heavy bag. Rated much heavier and I believe it. I attach them to exposed beams in my apt.. Holding up nicely after much love/abuse!*** For sound reduction, consider getting a spring. Pros: 1) spring will absorb much of the force of the swinging bag - instead of directly on the beam - reducing noise and house shaking. Cons: 1) spring will disrupt desired pendulum effect… bag will likely bounce; 2) spring lowers bag several inches… no more head shots, but perfect for kicks/body shots!

11/16 or 17mm are the socket sizes you need. Make sure you have those, plus a ratchet driver, before installing. A second set of hands helps.I just installed this hanger this morning and it took about 30 minutes total. I purchased an impact driver because I knew I'd be drilling into thick ceiling joists and the screws are absolutely massive.I drilled two small pilot holes after marking where I wanted the bag, and then used an impact driver to push them in. Due to the minimum socket width, I could only push the screws in about 3/4th of the way, so I used a 3/8" ratchet and a 17mm socket to finish it the rest of the way.The product comes with no manual or instructions at all. One thing to note is you need to disassemble it completely in order to mount the bracket first. Then, once mounted, you'd assemble the hanger by threading the bolt through the black spacers and the hanging link itself.Overall, I'm satisfied with this product and after seeing how solid it is, I'm not concerned at all that I'll have any issues with it.
