We were having trouble with the rear brake on my son's Mototec dirtbike and I was looking for a relatively cheap replacement. This one mounted right up to the existing bracket, although was tricky to route through the frame. I also wasn't thinking about the fact that the dirtbike brakes are the opposite of mountain bikes (the rear brake is on the left), but I was able to flip the brake lever over and it still works fine. I found that the hydraulic hose was fairly stiff and I accidentally put a bit of a crimp in it while installing...but so far it seems to be holding The rear brake line is longer than needed for a smaller dirtbike like this too...but I just coiled the extra line near the battery. Otherwise, it seems decent for a $40 brake.

As long as this will reach your wheel, this is great. I have it installed on a 26x4 ebike on the front, and it alone is enough to stop the bike. I have brakes on the back too, but I've tested these just by grabbing the front brakes and it has no problem stopping the bike. That bike is pretty heavy too. Well, the frame isn't, but the wheels and forks are. Well, then there's me. I'm not exactly light at 220. This has no problem stopping all that. If I actually use the rear brakes (not included in this) along with these, then it stops very, very quickly. It was pre-bled. I didn't have any problems with that. I just screwed everything together and that was good enough. There doesn't seem to be any air in the system. It stops great, so there must not be. Actual installation is a breeze. Granted, I've done this kind of thing a billion times, but you should be able to do it as well. It's really nothing difficult. This bike probably has...ehh...100 miles on it or so. The pads are still going great. It still stops as well as it ever has. With all that in mind, I can't complain.
