Like others have said, the part sent doesn’t match the photo and there are zero instructions on how to use. I had to consult YouTube to figure out how to use it. Cheaply made and the guide part barely fits on the edge and slips easily. Wish they made a better product for the saw max.

Per the headline, the actual product is different than the photo! Also, the package I received was labeled as a Bosch part, so I thought I had the wrong item & initiated an exchange! Upon further inspection (and research) I determined that I actually have the correct part, so I have to try to cancel the exchange! I've attached a stock photo I found online that matches my saw with the guide attached. The bag came with everything needed except an Allen wrench. I didn't need to make a square nut like the other review, and a provided set-screw locks the rod to the saw. I haven't actually used the guide but expect it to be fine!

The blade was a little stiff to insert into my dremel saw. I was cutting vertically (up and down) and found not as useful as intended. However, still will find this a good accessory

This TR800 edge guide 'does' work with the Dremel Saw Max but you have to get a little creative. This Edge Guide comes with a lock screw but, the Saw Max has no place for that screw. You can make an adapter very easily (see pictures). I used a piece of bar stock that was, handily, 1/2" wide, a perfect fit for the Saw Max. I found a nut threaded to fit the set screw provided with the edge guide, then drilled a hole in the bar stock just slighly smaller than the nut. I ground the nut at a very slight angle so one side would fit tightly into the hole, the other side offered a small gap which I filled with solder to hold everything together. Once the drilling and soldering was finished I simply cut the 1/2" piece of bar stock off to make a 1/2" square and it was done. Now the edge guide works perfectly and is held tightly in place by the homespun part.BTW, Dremel says there is an edge guide that Dremel says works right out of the box with the Saw Max, it's part number TRSM 800 (which doesn't seem to be available at Amazon at this writing). It's probably a good choice if you're not up for a little workshop challenge. ;) I gave the TR800 4 stars because it really does work well as an edge guide and, in fairness to Dremel, it isn't really marketed to work with this tool.Cheers

It has built in resistance possibly to keep it in place without the locking nut and screw, but I found it difficult to adjust since the distance will change when the locking screw is tightened if it not perfectly aligned. Once set, it works perfectly.

Item works great and is a perfect fit for my Dremel tool. I had seen in my manual that the guide was an option and it took me some time to find a place to purchase it, as the store that I bought the Dremel from, did not sell the guide so I went on line looking for one and ended up here on amazon.ca after some Google work and bought it, and it is the real deal; the actual guide that Dremel makes. 100% satisfaction on everything including the fast shipping.

Re-evaluated my original two-star and downgraded to one-star. This thing is horribly cheap construction with a plastic guide and a plastic set screw. Do not buy! Make one on your own.Original review: The one I received has a plastic guide, not the metal one shown. Additionally, the box had been torn open previously but the guide hadn't been used. Im guessing someone else wasn't thrilled with the bait and switch, either.

Item works fine, if a little cumbersome to install. Wish it were even more robust for more accuracy. No missing parts but open package (taped rips) and some scuff marks imply it was opened, used.or handled before. I wish Dremel had included this very useful accessory from the 3-in-1 kit that inclused the Treo.

Despite what others may say, this is compatible with the Sawmax. I purchased this after checking Dremel's website and the manual that came with the Sawmax. When it arrived, I found that it fits perfectly into the slots at the rear of the saw's footplate. The large black knob is reversible, so unscrew it and reattach to switch between circle-cutting and straight-edge guide uses. The blue wing nut that come with it, though, does not seem to be used to secure the guide. At said, once you have your width set, the saw itself does most of the work of staying in line and the guide eliminates the small side-to-side unevenness of the cut.
