Handcrafted
In 1989, DR Strings re-introduced handmade round core string making to the general market. It requires a lot of skill, time and care, but we feel it’s worth it because we can hear the difference between a handmade string and a machine made string.
Our winders take at least 6 months to learn their craft. It takes that long to develop a feel, an understanding, an instinct to make the constant tiny adjustments that only a hand can make. At each stage we test the wire, we check that it is pristine when it arrives from our suppliers, we inspect each and every wrap during production to ensure its quality, and then again as we hand-package it.

I don't know too much about the different kinds of guitar strings, but these have been working well on my acoustic guitar. They sound great and are easy and comfortable to play on. The strings seem to be handling the abuse of my playing well- I think they will last a long time. Being light strings, they are easy to play and also bend easily. I think they're a little more expensive than some of the other strings I've seen and gotten in the past but not too much so. I'd recommend these to any guitar players who play acoustic.

DR Strings DRAGON SKIN+ - Coated 80/20 Acoustic Guitar Strings – DA8-12 – Superior Sound with Comfortable Feel & Long Life: Light 12-54I'm just a hack guitar player so I have no idea how these compare. The sound that came out of my Taylor Mini Koa is much brighter than I expected. I had been playing on a set a strings for far too long. So the difference in tone was striking. I noticed the brightness of the tone and even picked up some harmonics. If you like playing around with harmonics, you might find these strings easier to play them. They certainly seemed to jump out naturally at times. I certainly wasn't trying to do them. And, I was surprised when I started hearing them.The brightness seems to settle out with some time playing. And, now the tone seems more enjoyable. I'm not sure I could tolerate these strings on my Little Martin which tends toward being too bright to begin with.The strings seem to hold tune really well if you install them properly. The 6th string just did not want to tune at first. I think it was not tight enough around the tuning peg so it would keep slipping flat and then jump 2 tones. I think that is all operator error and not the fault of the string. But, it could be the coating too. What I did like was that the 2nd string was very easy to tune. That one usually gives me trouble.

After playing these strings for a few days I can say I really like the tone and quality. The 12-54 gauge brought a slightly thicker tone than I would have expected in the best way. This selection of strings brought a very warm and well-balanced chord tone out of my guitar. Not too bright or bassy. Not “tinny” at all. The stretch time was minimal and they seem to be holding tune well. Overall I’m very pleased and will likely buy more to keep in the arsenal.

These strings sound GREAT! They didn't last as long as I had hoped, but I play slot. Elixrs last longer, but these sound better, especially for the first week or two. If you play often & they get sweaty, they will not maintain their brightness or warmth unless you thoroughly clean them after each session.

I'm pretty psyched about these Dragon Skin guitar strings. They're a really nice quality. The coating feels good on the fingers. The strings can take a lot of abuse. They sound great. They are very similar to a name brand I don't think I'm allowed to put in this review, but at quite a bit less in cost. I love that they're made in the USA and I will be trying the other gauges. I think these are a great find and would suggest you give them a try in your usual size.

I have been a die hard DR strings fan for years and years. Back in my gigging days when I would put a new set of strings on for every show, I have probably purchased hundreds of sets of their strings. I have always used the DR Tite Fits on my electric guitars, and the DR Hi Beams on my acoustics as they have always sounded the best to me, last forever, and stay in tune better than any other strings I have used.These Dragon Skins are new to me. I recently tried a set of electric Dragon Skins and was very impressed, so when I finally got the time to put these on one of my acoustics, I was very excited. And I will get it out of the way right away: these sound GREAT. Very bright and shimmery with a lot of sustain. They seem to take a beating without going out of tune as well, which is definitely a plus.I have always recommended DR strings, and these Dragon Skins definitely aren't changing that. They are awesome strings.

Ein Stern ist noch übertrieben. Schlecht verpackt, fühlen sich schon komisch an und sehen aus als hätte man sie schon 30mal benutzt und so klingt es dann auch. Da bist du mit 5 Euro Saiten besser dran. An meiner Gibson liegt es nicht. Der Preis ist in keinster Weise gerechtfertigt.

Great sounding strings. The also are not slippery. New, but we will see how long they last.
