All the tools were machine very precisely. Had no worries about accuracy while doing timing service on my S4. I have had and used other timing tool kits that were way more expensive and this was just as good and precise. If I had one complaint, it would be that the parts came with a bit of a greasy film that had to be cleaned off before use. I would definitely recommend this kit for anyone doing timing chain service on an Audi 4.2.

After locking the camshafts in alignment, I tried to loosen a bolt, but they shifted and broke within the first five minutes. It also damaged the cam as well. So I returned these and bought a higher quality tool..

Worked fine to replace cam follower in 2009 A4 Quattro 3.2L. Cam adjuster sprocket holder moved a little too easily for my liking so I peened the hinge rivet some more to tighten it up, it loosened back up during the job so next time I have to use it I will grind off the head and replace the hinge rivet with a bolt and locknut just so not to have to keep re-adjusting the spread of the holder pins.

3.0T camshaft sprockets and adjusters are torqued down with enough torque that if you rely on the bolts in the locking blocks of this tool to prevent sprockets and adjusters from spinning, then you will definitely break this tool. At first I thought it was just that they used cheap bolts, but even after I replaced the bolts with grade 10, and then even grade 12 bolts, they broke every time. The key then is not to rely on the blocks to stop the spinning. They're only there to keep time, not to keep the camshafts from spinning as you apply large amounts of torque to the sprocket or adjuster. Actually, even better than the pin spanner or the spanner wrench that is included in this kit, which actually don't provide enough leverage, is to simply drop a 1/2" impact extension about 6" in length into the area where the head bolts for cylinder 3 and cylinder 6 would go. That will very nicely counter the sprocket or adjuster from spinning. So the quality of the bolts and the metal in the blocks is fine if you use this tool properly.
