Function
Used to maintain the timing position of the camshaft and crankshaft when replacing or adjusting the timing belt or chain and timing the engines.
Premium Material
The VANOS wrench (115490) is only suitable for the single VANOS timing chain sprocket of the M52 engine, as shown in the right diagram, and cannot be used for the double VANOS timing chain sprockets of the M52TU and M54.
Fitment
Compatible with BMW M52 M52TU M54 M56 engine. And also applicable for camshaft timing on M42, M44, M50, M52, MS50US, S50US, S52US.

With this and a valve spring compressor I was able to replace my valve stem seals in my barn. Great time to clean the lifters out too. Couldn't be happier.

Everything works as it should except the vanos gear wrench, mine didn’t quite fit in the center of the gear hole and took a lot of filing to make it work.

Pin on the wrench don’t even fit in the groove between the teeth on the cam gear cuz it’s manufactured improperly
