Fit perfect on an ‘05 Passat TDI with BHW engine. Ended up removing the alternator and doing the replacement on the bench. Time will tell on the quality. I pounded the threaded inserts out a little to ease re-installation. I ended up breaking one of the small fins off the fan clutch in order to get the lower bolt out far enough, just broke the same one off on the opposite side to keep it balanced. Fixed the squeak and bouncing belt when at idle and steering at low rpms. The reason for a decoupled pulley is due to the high inertia of the alternator. The squeaks that happen come from slight changes in rpm of the engine, the decoupling of the alternator allows it to continue spinning at high speed even when the engine rpm slows.
