So a few months ago I put LED bulbs in my 1997 Ford Ranger third brake light housing. Doing that, I had to remove it and I guess I broke that factory seal because it looked like it's never been removed before. We had a few weather episodes of very heavy rainfall, and water was pouring into my cab through the third brake light housing. Saw that the original weather tight sealing gasket has deformed and needed replacement. For like $10-$15 you could get a gasket for the 20+ year old housing or buy this product for $10 more.Packaging was well done, the product seemed new, and the 3 pin connector matched the OEM one. The included gasket seems less light weather tight stripping and more like foam with an adhesive strip. Plugged it in an tested it prior to installing and everything worked.Installation proved that this aftermarket housing was not dimensionally exact to OEM. The screw holes do not line up very well as the gap is too short. The housing also doesnt fit onto the cab near as well as the OEM one, so it left a gap in the same spot that water was entering on the OEM housing, so I'm concerned water will still leak in once it rains. This manufacturer seems to have QC issues cause even the clear lens didn't fit onto the housing well and they filled in large gaps with black silicone, so I'm expecting moisture issues too.Gonna add photos and update after it's in the weather a bit. May be able to sand some edges to make it fix on the cab better and get some thicker automotive weather stripping and remake the gasket. Maybe then, this product would last as long as the LEDs do.

After two years the plastic quality oxidation was so bad you could barely see the lights anymore.

This product looks awesome, total step up from factory. Super easy installation as well complete plug and plug. Only issue is that I washed my truck right after installing it and it fogged up in the left corner immediately.

It fit right on my truck and an exact fit... my truck don't have the wiring for bed lights or park lights for this light but it lights up good as a brake light and looks great.

Looks good. The holes were slightly off to match up with factory holes on truck. Plastic lens not made of very durable plastic. Lens cracked when installing. Other reviews say not to overtighten but to install tightly to truck with misaligned screw holes, pressure required is enough to crack lens...Update: Assembly starts to leak over time and lens weathers so bad from the sun that only about 25% of illumination comes through.

I've had this for a little over a week and it went through a big rain storm. I purchased this to stop the infamous 3rd break light leak in my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT and it works great!! Icing on the cake is that these are LED lights which should last a lot longer than the standard bulbs on the original light. The trick to getting this to stop the water leak is to use NEW screws and grommets (search Amazon for "50 Ford Screw Grommets 10mm X 10mm M4.2 Screw"). You only need two grommets, but the sell them in packs of 50. I used a couple of thicker galvanized steel screws to really make sure the light is on tight (don't over-tighten, just turn until you feel a good amount of resistance). Once you have it on tight, it should prevent any water from entering the cabin of the vehicle. The light fit perfectly and plugs in to the existing wiring without any modification. The white leds shine when the cargo light is turned on. The red leds shine when the brake pedal is depressed. There is no standard way to shine both at the same time (this is not even needed). So far, I am very satisfied. I hope it lasts the life of the vehicle and it beats paying $100 for a factory replacement.

Just received and installed. Plug and play connection--took less than 10" to install. Comes with gasket but I added a little silicone as well to assure no leakage. Product seems well made, especially for price. LED's seem bright but haven't yet observed after dark. Tried to find a light that had a dim tail or running light that brightened when pressing the brake, but unable. Entire lens is red so not sure how bright the cargo lights will be. Will try to update when observed at night.
